Khans Westside Halal Meats Ltd — Local services in Henderson-Massey

I only buy meat here if I miss something. Otherwise I buy elsewhere due to bad experience of buying skinless thigh with very bad slicing packed at the back of the shop, not the same as on display.

Had to write a review because husband bought chicken leg on 12/6/2026 and they were extremely HUGE out of normal size - two chicken legs won't fit the airfyer. One chicken leg is almost 3/4 size of a normal plate. Again this was packed from the back of the shop. Husband would like to return but it was already late and travelling the next day.

On positive side they have nice lamb cutlets - nicely trimmed - I have bought few times, always taken from the front shelf.

Conclusion, I would only buy from...

I’m very disappointed with my recent experience at this butcher. I purchased a 1.3 kg goat leg for $30, expecting to receive close to that amount in meat. However, after the meat was cut and fat was removed (as they claimed), I was left with only 988 grams. That’s over 300 grams of difference—which I still had to pay for, despite not receiving it.

When I called to raise this concern, I was simply told the fat had been removed. I understand trimming is part of the process, but losing nearly a quarter of the weight (and value) without any prior explanation or option feels unfair. I wouldn’t expect to be charged full price for what ends...

Probably my most favourite butcher in Auckland. Always fully staffed and packed with customers moving stock quick and the prices are pretty good. The fact is it's consistently fresh since it moves. Not all butchers are equal with some charging high and give results not requested. A purchase at another butcher, the meat wasn't as fatty as I required and wasn't very fresh, price was about the sky's limit for lamb. If I had to pay the same high price, would always give it to Khan's since they always deliver. It also shows when your making BBQ's when the people can taste...
