I’ve been a loyal customer of Chapati for 7 years. Reading through the reviews I’m almost wondering if they have maybe changed ownership? I have always been so impressed with the food and customer service (I actually wrote a 5 star review on Zomato about 5 years ago). But the last time my husband and I ordered takeaways from Chapati we were so disappointed. The butter chicken is normally so creamy and rich but this time it was watery and flavourless, we ordered garlic/cheese naans (which are usually amazing) they were bland and hardly had any cheese or garlic in them. I thought this was unusual for Chapati, that maybe it was a once off, so I didn’t want to complain or write a negative review. Then tonight my husband and I decided to go out on a rare date night with our nearly 6 month old baby. We were tossing up between our favourite Vietnamese restaurant (Pho Bien) and Chapati, now I’m wishing we chose Vietnamese. We ordered the entree mix platter (thought we’d try something new) and our usual curries with naan. The mix platter just seemed like an assortment of microwave reheated leftovers which was really disappointing and again our curries/naan were flavourless. Then not long after we left the restaurant I started to feel sick and once I got home I was in and out of the bathroom for a good 3 hours. Our baby is fully breastfed and I was worried she may also start to feel sick, sure enough she has been unsettled and throwing up for the majority of the night. Unfortunately this experience has done it for me and we won’t be returning to...
Read moreExcellent food !! I go to chapati pretty much every week to eat their unlimited buffet options.
The food is amazing , the only feedback I would like to add is that the buffet menu is getting less and less , when you started you had so many items now pretty much half of it, I understand you are giving good food and quality but if you are running a deal please atleast maintain the same amount of items .
My biggest ask is you need to add your best items in the buffet . I only eat vegetarian food so in the beginning you had noodles , paneer cutlets as an starter , malai kofta, paneer masala ,chana masala and so on .
Since last 7 weeks or more you have reduced your vegetarian options and so much from 4 curries to now only 2 curries which is dal makhni and Palak paneer and you have this 2 same curries from last 7 weeks which is disappointing.
I appreciate that what you do but if you are running a buffet you should not reduce your items and please have your best items ever malai Kofta , dal makhni and paneer masala is your best combinations I have ever had .
On starters I feel you never have enough chat papdis which is your best vegetarian starters.
Please keep serving us with your best dishes...
Read moreUpdate - I got a call from their Manager - Preet, who very kindly apologised and offered a replacement meal for free. I politely declined as we already had plans for the weekend but the intention matters hence changing my review. It's very easy to stuff up when you are a Hospitality business (specially in the situation we are in) but it takes the right people and the mindset to actually go in and fix the stuff up, which I noticed in Preet's intent.
Was a regular customer but this would be my last order with them. Malai tikka was smelling bad, tasting like the pieces were taken out of another curry and then the cream thrown over them to make it look like malai tikka. If that wasn't enough, it had small pieces of bones almost in each piece which shouldn't be there considering it's a Tikka. Moving on to kadhai chicken, the most pathetic i have ever had ! Again, the recipe was definitely not of a kadhai chicken and the pieces were hard and big, tasted so bad that we couldn't even finish our food. Not sure if they have changed their chef or the owners, but their food used to be way better than this.
Good bye and see you guys...
