I was totally blown away by my night here! My girlfriends and I met for tapas and drinks - the vibe was so good! We got a bay window table with an ocean/Rangitoto view - so gorgeous!
The food was insane. We tried just about every tapas on the menu, and were blown away by all of it. Stand outs for me were the fish sliders which are made with the most fluffy sweet buns that I later found out are made in-house and are called milk buns. I need more milk bun fish sliders in my life. They’re even better than the Depot ones in had a year or so ago so that’s saying something! And the thick cut fries were a surprising hero dish. God knows what was in the aioli but it’s like crack.
Finally the drinks were bougie and pretty, (mango chilli margaritas are a must), and the service outstanding. The staff are so friendly and genuine - none of this rude no time to talk stuff that you get in the city. I think that makes a massive difference and even the owner came and chatted to us.

Read moreWe went to Moxie for dinner on Friday night for the first time. It won't be the last. The service, drinks and food were superb. We started with a cocktail. I had the plum margarita (outstanding, with a sugar cinnamon rimmed glass, an idea I will definitely borrow) and my partner had the Pineapple Express -- which she found too smoky, but maybe that's because she was experimenting with Mezcal for only the second time. We shared the (1) Spiced Pistachio and Date, Smoked Labneh, Pomegranate, Kumara Chips, (2) Kingfish Cooked Over Coals, Soy honey Glaze, Sambal Hollandaise, Pickled Ginger and (3) Pan Fried Market Fish, Tabouleh, Oven Dried Tomato, Swiss Chard, Lemon Emulsion. All three were beautifully presented and delicious, interesting flavours. We finished by sharing the Valrhona Chocolate Fondant, Rhubarb, Vanilla Ice Cream, Black Pepper Tuile for dessert. Also spectacular. Plus the service was super friendly, helpful and efficient. One of the best meals we've had out in...
