Growing up in Birkenhead, from when much of it was still farmland. I have always loved going to Lil Shoal Bay, always the mystery of the whereabouts of Big Shoal Bay, but I digress. Good for swimming and watersports with young children as the sheltered area means it's gentle water and shallow for a long distance. This does mean you need to go around high tide if you want to enjoy the water
