Village Fishery — Restaurant in Māngere-Ōtāhuhu

Mangere Village Fishery is now my go to spot to get my fish n chip fix 🤤. I saw some people post on tiktok and so I thought why not try it for myself and boy oh boy the people don't lie. The fish is cooked so fresh and steaming hot. I love how the batter is just perfect, not too thick like other fish n chips shops where the batter literally takes over and you only get a little bit of fish lol. The chips are nice and crunchy and you get to choose what salt you want eg chicken salt etc. The combo prices are affordable, not gonna break the bank. Also a Nice spot for a little date to the bridge and have a nice little picnic there while looking at the sea 🌊 😊. Definitely recommend 10/10 can't go anywhere else and...

Like the food in general but very very oily & greasy with oil soaking through the box and paper bag it came in. Oil was everywhere including my $74k brand new truck with leather seats. Was bit bummed. 1st time visit. Fish were smallish and combo seemed bit hit and miss. Not sure if will return but will see on the day (you know how it goes, depends on how you feel). Seasoning was nice but could hardly taste it as I only got a taste of seasoning on the bottom soggy chips. Also very busy but as a business owner that's great, as a customer with food 3 stars out of 5, I'm not sure...

Take that short butchy Lady off the counter her customer service is Rubbish (I prefer to use a swear word) .. I've been there many times an encountered that Lady who has a Sour Attitude .. I asked to have my salmon put in a cardboard box .. Salmon is an oily fish and by the time I get it from A to B it has soaked through the useless brown paper bag .. 50cents .. Last Week a helpful young man served me and his service is a millions times of a higher standard...
