Coupland's Bakeries - Blenheim — Restaurant in Marlborough

Couplands in Blenheim is Amazing. I stop there every time I am I in Blenheim. Staff need to be more aware of customers queing at checkout. I had to wait several minutes as lady had a basket full of goods and the cashier was trying to get those items through quickly. Meanwhile a Male cashier was talking to someone in a office which was behind 1st cashier. The Male Cashier could see that 1st Cashier was busy and also did glances towards the que but kept on talking to person in office. After several minutes he finally came back. I bought a pack of 4 custard squares, thinking they would be a nice afternoon tea with friends. They were absolutely disgusting. We all looked at each other and said YUK! Such a disappointing experience. What happened to the lovely creamy soft fluffy custard? It was like a thick gelatin based yellow watery slab with pastry I could not even cut the pastry with a sharp knife. Today I went up to a real bakery at Redwood town and to my absolute delight had brought a beautiful fluffy creamy custard sq. I will never buy these so called custard sq again...

I went to couplands blenheim today about 4.30pm to get some savouries. I was shocked to see the staff throwing the frozen sausage rolls n pizza in to the freezer. Evrn though they were seconds i thought i would not want to buy those. They would be chipped and broken from being thrown on top of each other.
