Studio: the set up & affordability.
Executors room: the space & free Kiwi plush toy & spray for the pillow & chocolate brownie were all nice additions.
Super room: there was a kitchen sink to actually fill up the jug/kettle to use (this wasn't available in the other two room) & it's good there was a stove in case we wanted to cook there.
All rooms: The beds were comfortable and had a good layout & it was great having the t.v. facing the bed. It was neat to be able to play music in 2-3 rooms via the controller on the wall. It was nice to have a chocolate brownie in the executor's room.
Customer Service: Tracey was the main staff member I liaised with, she was informative, understanding, patient, helpful, clear with her communication and was pleasant to speak with.
Wi-fi: had no issues.
T.V: Good size in all rooms, it worked fine, it's great it has Sky Movies and other channels, would be awesome to be able to Chromecast or go online & go on Netflix, Amazon Prime & other subscription channels to have the ability to watch content on there (Hotel may not get a subscription but, people subscribed can log in and log out at least to watch their series).
Parking: Great parking, many spots to choose from at the Chateau for free.
Amenities: Complimentary tea (earl gray, peppermint, lemon ginger) & drinking chocolate & coffee, great to have all 3 options to suit people's preferences. Great to have the essentials Shampoo, Conditioner, Soap, body wash. It was nice in the Super room to have a ward drobe with a dressing gown to wear during our stay.
Pool & Gym: Great to see these options available & the pool was up and running & had guests using it.
Option to have a buffet breakfast for $29 & room service is a nice addition for those whom want to spend more money for that.
No rubbish & recycling bin in the toilet room for the studio +/- the executor's bathroom.
No face wash & moisturiser on offer. No spare towels, face cloths available (would be good to have 1 spare for each person).
Costly for 2 people to dine in at the restaurant there, my partner & I had 1 drink each, garlic 🍞 & 1 main item each & it was $124.54¢.
For the wall music controller: 2-3/3 radio stations didn't work in rooms it was tested on, volume only has 2-3 options and cannot be any louder.
Less space in the Super room, no sink and tap for filling the jug/kettle in the Executor's room & I think Studio. No oven in the Super room.
Super room I stayed at for 1 night had water from the 🚿 spread to the floor surrounding the toilet therefore, it would be best there is a shower door to block the water from spreading to the...
Read moreYour Staff had NO cause to approach my dinner table while I was eating and demand anything from me!||||I was dining in an area not close to any of the other 2 tables (only 2 on the other side of the room) which had guests! With 1 table being a lot louder talking and laughing than the tiny volume of my phone.||||Your staff was NOT polite, polite would have needed a conversation to begin with “excuse me” as well as the use of “please” and “thank you”.||||Instead your staff approached my table while I was dining and demanded I turn my phone volume down for the sake of the other guest! Guests which again had NO knowledge of me as there was only 2 tables far away from me and again with 1 group chatting and laughing a lot louder than my phone.||||I asked this staff member if there had been any complaints from the guests and I was barked at by your staff that she could hear my phone. ||||From my side as a paying customer who was not frugal with their order and was keeping himself to himself, your staff went out of their way to disturb me for NO reason.||||This staff member went out of her way ||||to bully me!||||Whatever power trip she needed at that time, she decided to use me as the instrument and failed - which is why she hid at the back of the reception (as she is the receptionist) and begged another member of staff to check me out, in NZ I believe they call this shame - I felt NO shame as I had done nothing wrong.!||||I suggest you pass my message to your head office to protect yourself as that is where I will be targeting my next communication.||||Along with your so called Manager Thu Pham trying to insinuate and embarrass me with her reply to my booking review it seams to me the culture in your business is to bully all customers..!||||Also the food you provided was RANK, alleged venison as I’m sure it wasn’t was worse than cheap cut beef and the lamb was terrible and unidentifiable as well as microwaved cooked.||||I mentioned SHAME already.||||Well...
Read moreStayed for 3 nights and had dinner here once - will absolutely stay here again! The receptionist (Fay?) was wonderfully helpful and friendly as we had not made a booking, but she was able to find us a room at a great rate without any trouble. The rooms are a little worse for wear with some marks on the wall, but the shower and bed were wonderful. There are also 4 (yes 4!) different types of pillow available on request. Plenty of parking is available and there are multiple entry points to the hotel so coming and going is easy. The main street is about a 5 minute walk away and there is a lovely park over the road. As for the restaurant - as with most hotels, the prices are on the higher end. However, for what we received with our mains, it was absolutely worth it! There was real care and love that went into those dishes. The baked brie was just the right amount of warm and gooey and served with a good selection of crackers and breads - a dish best shared though! The beef fillet was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth and both mains were packed with flavours and textures making every bite a delight! Our waitress Amelia was attentive, informative and funny and deserves a shoutout for helping to make the evening a delight. Unfortunately the desserts did not live up to the standards set by the mains. They were still good, but the bar had been set very high! The strawberry cheesecake itself was good, as was the pavlova, but I would have preferred them to be served with freshly whipped cream rather than what I suspect cane from a can. I was also disappointed by the "tropical fruit" served with the pavlova, which turned out to be watermelon and rockmelon - some mango or fresh pineapple would go a long way. Or add some icecream and turn it into a tropical Eaton Mess. I would definitely recommend staying and dining here as the experience and food were both wonderful, just be aware that if you choose to dine here, the desserts may not be quite as good as the...
