Lugano Motor Lodge Blenheim — Hotel in South Island

Lugano Motor Lodge - August 2023 - Worst experience ever since we lived in NZ for 40 yrs. . My husband & I were booked by DHB to reside here for 2 weeks as he was working at hospital. We didnt feel were welcomed , however we settled. We knew standard rules of cooking etc . There was a freshly typed notice at the sink , original notice attached below. We were very upset about this & didnt bother to make any changes or say to anyone. Our rooms were not serviced in weekends. No fresh towels were supplied and we couldnt reuse used towels as there was no heated rail. When my husband went to desk for help, he was told someone will come to our room to service. I finally asked next room client if their room was serviced , apparently was so he lended me spare towels. Next morning we saw pile of towels sitting outside on a chair. This motel was meant to accommodate us for long term but after this bad esperience we didnt accept the offer to stay here again. There are lots of issues about RACIAL matters etc, this is pure example of being racist I needed to share this matter with general public . My husband said not to bother as these types of people with such attitudes...

An excellent stay - this beats any motel I have stayed in for freshness and cleanliness. Just lovely and the linen was the best ever. We loved the proximity to shops, theaters and restaurants - all a few minutes walk. Just a minute to get onto the river walkway which was great for our exercise and really pleasant. You couldn't fault the hospitality - the hosts know everything there is to know about the area which meant on their good advice we got to do all we wanted to with no waste of time tying to find out.
