Shocking experience, we didn’t have a booking as we were walk in. The lady at the desk was so nice when we said sorry we are just walk-in looks busy, so do think we can have a table. She said to wait for a minute and found a table with NO reservations note on and got us to sit. The Second lady came and said oh no my guests are here this table is taken and sorry I have to ask you to leave, but would you like to do takeaway, we got up and left, while she went at her colleague who sat us saying that Lamy table why did you get us to sit. And don’t take anymore. First of all need to have reservations tag if you have already plans for tables, Second of all if you know you have a busy day, make a plan for walk ins before hand so you can tell them before you make them sit and get watched get kicked out because you guys can’t plan ahead. It’s a small business so every customer matters specially on a busy day. I wonder if was actually because it was busy or I looked like I couldn’t afford the food! Either way i felt bad for the lady who sat us because she got told off, second what the hell man plan your team if you know it’s as busy day especially on Easter weekend!! Absolutely disappointing! Never I will eat there again just due to bad customer service. I have been in this business for so long and have worked for Thai restaurants and this was disappointing. I don’t need apologies but make a better plan for walk ins and some respect...

I normally don’t review negatively always finding the good. I ordered the soft shell crab it came with sauce on the side and rice, garnish was cucumber and tomato $38. Happy to pay but the soft shell crabs served deep fried were burnt! So disappointing. My partner had chicken, vegetables and cashews and said it was “really good”. I struggled and hardly ate any of it, and not wanting to make a scene ( we had a very young waitress )didn’t say anything till we left. As we walked up to pay the woman did not even look at me as someone else from the kitchen came up and talked to her in Thai. She found my bill and knew where we sat. I paid still never looked at me. When finished I said “I would like to say my soft shell crab was burnt, she did not understand what burnt was and asked me again. At this point I said thank...

Great food and beautifully cooked. Generous seafood portions and very tasty.

However: Waitress couldn’t tell us anything about the dishes when we asked. We had to rely totally on reading the menu’s descriptions.

We were keen to do a desert but after giving us a menu again, waitress never came back to take our orders. So after waiting and seeing her go by many times we got up, paid and left and then went elsewhere.

Hence a lower rating for staff who should be trained to upsell and also know what the dishes are.

This restaurant does Cater to Coeliac clients in many mains, but only one desert option. (Would be nice to see sticky rice and mango as an option. )

We went at 5 pm, so restaurant...

We visited Eat Thai Restaurant as a group of friends celebrating a birthday and farewell, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. I started with the money bags and the king platter – both were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. For my main, I had the mixed seafood with garlic and black pepper sauce – absolutely delicious! The seafood was fresh, well-cooked, and the sauce had the perfect balance of bold and savory. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, making it a great spot for a special night out. I highly recommend Eat Thai for anyone looking for authentic Thai food and top-notch service in Blenheim.

We came here on a really busy night. The place was pumping. All the tables were full and there was lots of take-out heading out the door. The staff were working hard to keep up. We ordered, money bags and curry puffs for starters and Cashew Chicken, and Penang for mains. The starters came out really quickly. The puff was light and delicious. The money bags were next level - lots of Thai places just give you mass produced money bags but at Eat Thai it was home made and amazing. Then we had the long wait - I think it was like an hour between entree and main. But boy oh boy was it worth the wait! Seriously good. It’s hard to explain it was that good. I would def recommend.

What an absolute delight. Beautiful flavours and spice levels were spot on. Highly recommend the green curry and if you are feeling adventurous, please do try the Thai desserts! The Thai sticky rice was deliciously authentic or if you aren't up for an adventure, try the mud cake. It smelled absolutely tantalising and had rich deep chocolatey notes (I would post more photos but the food was so delicious that we couldn't hold back!). I never thought I would be able to experience such beautiful flavours outside of Thailand in the comfort of our backyard. I will be coming back here to eat again the next time I visit Blenheim.
