Pukemanu Bar & Function Centre — Restaurant in Martinborough Community

A large group of us ate here and the food was great couldn't fault that but we had a wait of just under 2hours and we were shocked that the waitress were lost. They didn't have a clue on were the plates of food were going . If you were dishonest you could have eaten free. The response from the guy we ask questions to had very bad responses, in the end one of the group talked to the manager and she gave us a free drink each, thanks for that. But I feel you need to have table numbers so the waitress knows were to deliver the meals too. As we waited so long we all decided not to order deserts as we could not wait that long. And all night we only sore 1 desert come out so maybe others thought...

The food, service, and general atmosphere were all pretty terrible. The staff were really friendly but not very interested, some of the dinner dishes were still on the table when dessert was brought out, a snappish response when I asked for some extra napkins after the lid on the sauce fell off and sauce went all over the table and my lap, drinks not refilled or glasses cleared, the lighting was super bright, the table was really narrow and by the door which was drafty and one of our party had to keep his jacket on, My burger and chips was about average f'n'c shop quality. Group of 9 of us were booked for dinner after a hard day of cycling round the wineries of Martinborough. A few of us had the rib eye steak, some had the burgers, lamb rump, surf and turf, and a soup. Everything came out on time and was very well presented and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the potato bacon and mushroom side dish, it's actually quite substantial and was enough as a main for one of the younger members of our party.
