This was my first visit to Nara Cafe and I loved it. It's fairly new to Martinborough in a newly refurbished building. The interior decor is modern, light and lovely. The place was busy so it had a great atmosphere. The counter service was friendly and the food came out fairly promptly, even though it was busy. I had a jalapeno cornbread with bacon, 2 fried eggs, dukkah, chilli oil & maple syrup. I loved the flavour combinations, but the eggs were a bit runny for my liking. I should've asked for the tops to be cooked a bit more. Excuse the photo of my partly-eaten meal, as I forgot to take a photo before I tried it. The Flight coffee was amazing. I'd love to try some of their other dishes one day. The counter food options were slim pickings and a little disappointing. It would've been nice to see some more fresh scones and muffins, but there wasn't much choice unless it was all sold out.

I was very impressed with my first time at Nara! The ambience was great, busy and vibing but still relaxing enough for a Sunday morning. We were instantly seated (6pax) and our coffee orders were taken promptly. The coffee was brought out hot and was seriously the best I have had for a long time (flight coffee brand). The food was very good value - bacon and eggs on Clareville Bakery bread for $24. Highly recommend this boutique Cafe.

A great spot to kick start your day in Martinborough. The atmosphere is tops as is the seasonal menu, cabinet goodies and drinks menu. And they know how to serve up a great coffee every time. Weekend can be busy at peak times for brunch / lunch but easily fixed by making a booking. You won’t be disappointed.

Good food, and good service, BUT the menu is riddled with issues for allergens. I ordered the jalapeño cornbread, which the menu said was Gluten Free and Dairy Free, I clarified this with the waitress who initially said it was correct, but later came back and said it wasnt and the menu was a typo. If I hadn’t of asked, and assumed the menu was correct, I would have had an allergic reaction. My partner also requested the granola, but to be made vegan as the menu said it could be, only to be told the granola itself contains honey, my partner was fine with this, but again the menu said it could be vegan but it couldn’t be. The food was good, and the staff were all nice, but unfortunately their menu is wrong and that could be risky for people...

Nara Catering served a stunning lunch for 100 people celebrating my father’s 80th birthday in a Wairarapa woolshed. Daniel was excellent to work with – knowledgeable and full of ideas as well as being flexible in incorporating our ideas. He designed a menu that looked great on the plate, tasted delicious (with dishes that complemented each other superbly), and met all our dietary requirements. On the day Daniel and his chef not only served the meal in a venue without a kitchen, but also helped us with other aspects of the hosting – going above and beyond their immediate responsibilities. Our guests were very happy and so were we. I would highly recommend Nara Catering for any special events around Martinborough and...
