We visited Cambridge Road just the other day, lovely little driveway with space for our motorhome, down to a quaint tasting shed. We met Sarah, who immediately made us feel extremely comfortable, welcome and just happy to be at Cambridge Road ha! This is a popular vineyard, not crowded by any means, just the right vibe, and as far as we could see Sarah was the only person on, but you couldn't tell. She was extremely attentive to all present, and also caring, that's a good word to use, caring, even with her poorly finger. She really listened to what we were looking for, and really explained, in detail what they do at Cambridge Road, different to many vineyards, and how certain wines would suit us. We really loved the Rosso, and the last wine in our tasting, Cambridge Road, blue label, was divine!!!! Wish we had got a bottle! Highly recommend this vineyard, and if you're lucky enough you'll get to see Sarah. Thanks...

Tasting fee is $10, which is pretty reasonable given how many wines they let you try. Only real bummer (and therefore one less star) is that they do not waive the tasting fee when you buy bottles like most other places.
Really interesting variety of wines from orange rose, blends of Pinot Noir and Syrah, some very slightly fizzy rose with Pinot Gris, and even a Cabernet. Liked the variety, though some of the other people in the room with us were not fans of most of the wines because they were too light and they liked heavier reds. They do have a couple of heavier reds as well, so it's not a total loss of you only like...

Unfortunately, all the good stuff were destroyed by the hospitality. The staff serving us just don't want to talk to us at all. I understand staff will get tired on serving people as I also worked in tasting room for a period of time (one of the busiest tasting room in NZ). However, this gives no excuse to that staff especially in a quiet weekday. I almost want to ask if she want to do her job. To be honest, if the host is better, they can make the white wine a bit more fun although I am not a big fans of it. I don't want to be...
