Katsubi Sylvia Park — Restaurant in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

The moment I walked in, the staff were rude and unprofessional. Not only did they mess up my order with the wrong ingredients (despite me clearly selecting what I wanted), but when I asked for the last two teriyaki tofu pieces, I was told they couldn't give them to me because they "needed to make more." How lazy and unaccommodating is that?

To make matters worse, the "crispy" teriyaki chicken I received was a joke. It was the smallest serving I've ever seen, cold, dry, and honestly unappetizing. But the worst part? It had a rancid, fishy aftertaste that made me feel like I was eating spoiled food. I couldn't finish the meal, and it left me feeling disgusted and utterly disappointed. Things only got worse after I got home. I ended up vomiting multiple times from the food – no exaggeration. This place clearly has major issues with both food quality and health standards. The staff are rude, the food is unsafe, and overall, it's a complete disaster.

There is a female staff member who is extremely rude working here. I placed an order which included rice and she didn't add the rice and when i brought it to her attention she was rude and kept repeating herself about how I said I didn't want rice. Anyway, I didnt care about the rice at this point, so I had a family member come with me to ask her if we could speak to the manager; at first she said that the manager wasn't there and that he was moving over seas then she said she was manager. I let her know that her attitude was disgusting and that she needed to work on her customer service. A male staff member jumped in to help resolve but when I was explaining to him the female worker again was talking over me, I wasn't even able to explain my side. This is the first time experiencing such poor customer service and if she truly is the manager, then I highly suggest avoiding this place unless you want to be yelled at in front of everyone at the food court. Unfriendly staff, the salad choice was very poor and what was available was very dry/limp and looked a day or two old , there used to be fresh salad but certainly not anymore. The choice of meats weren't as good as they used to be either. Incredibly stingy with their portions and sauces, one pick of peas/corn with tongs is not an ideal serving. I went in for lunch today 27/12/2017 while it is a very busy time of the year all other food stores had people waiting in line, I was the only one at Katsubi and now understand why, I won't be visiting this place again and will ensure I tell others not to waste their time or money.
