Stumbled across this place by accident and I can tell you we where not disappointed! If you are in Napier I would recommend this.
We got four different types...
Roast beef and coleslaw - bread was sorf, beef was well cooked and the coleslaw was absolutely amazing!
BBQ bulled beef - beef was full of flavour and was really on point!
(Not a philly) cheese steak - really enjoyed this, again, well cooked, full of flavour!
Cheese toasties - The cheese toastie was kind of plain.... I know! It's a cheese toastie, what do you expect! If it was plain cheese, I would expect a simple mix, even mozzarella and cheddar. By the looks of it, it was a cheese slice in there but could be wrong. Regardless, it lacked flavour.
Chocolate milkshakes and caramel milkshakes- death by diabetes but to be expected with a milkshake.
Coffee - cappuccino, was a good cup.
Pros:
.• Service was quick • Decent selection of toasted and non toasted sandwiches • Bread was on point • Fillings were well cooked and filled with flavour (except the cheese, see below) • Coffee and milkshakes were nice
Cons:
• Decor is a little dates - this place would be great with American style booths
Would definitely eat here again. Every sandwich that came out look delicious and keen to try other menu items....
Read moreWoke up craving a steak and cheese sandwich for lunch at 2pm, so decided to get a move on, as this establishment close at 3pm. Nice friendly staff upon arrival , clean a d fresh. Ordered and cheese steak and it was cooked to order and quickly delivered to my table. Bread was fresh and crisp not over toasted or soggy, Perfect soft light bread with a nice bite, nice cheese and perfectly seasoned tender steak, with yum jalapenos and onion jam. Definitely not a philly cheesesteak, no whip here, definitely there own style. $12.50
Decide to order a garlic mushroom and cheese sandwich to take away as I did not want food regret. Nice saute mushrooms and not excessive cheese, perfectly seasoned, and bread was on point again, and all nicely wrapped up to go. $12
Very pleased with my experience and eatting local, definitely not a cheap eat, but delicious Ps: I look fwd to the owners favorite next...
Read moreI used to really enjoy the sandwiches here but it seems things are changing for the sake of increasing profits. I was always a bit hesitant to visit for lunch as the wait times are considerable (for a sandwich) and the prices are quite high. But the food was always very tasty and still is which made it worth it.
My most recent visit however I was severely dissatisfied as it appears they’ve reduced the size of the sandwiches by a considerable amount. I feel this might be the straw that broke the camels back and I don’t think I’ll be back to that sandwich place any time soon.
TLDR; sandwiches taste good, but too expensive, too small and the wait...
