Sadly I don’t have photos but next time I will. Went with a group from work and it was amazing. I had the chicken Malaysian noodles, a few of my friends had the butter chicken and also the chicken schezwan noodles. As well as the naan breads and complementary papadums. I was beginning to think we didn’t have much in Napier. But the food was amazing, service was amazing and the staff were so friendly. Definitely recommend. Since writing the first part I’ve have been back with my son and it was just as amazing and delicious as the first time. The service was awesome and our server (Babloo Thapa) was friendly and helpful, explaining the dishes. This time we had chilli, cheese and garlic naan, chicken tikka 8pc which came with a really vibrant green sauce that was to die for😋 and mains were lamb korma with rice and chicken Malaysian noodles(again) cause it was so good the first time. Ohh and my son had a beer (he’s 30 so old enough😂) and I had a passion fruit mojito(so good). Was $114 which I thought was great, portions were huge and ended up taking some home. Again...
Read moreI genuinely love this place. I’m so glad this Nepalese family chose Napier — of all places — to open their wonderful little restaurant.
The standout for me is the Thali, a traditional Nepalese meal with rich, complex flavours I’d never encountered before. The Crispy Momos are also outrageously good — so good, in fact, you may regret sharing them. Honestly, it’s hard to go wrong with anything on the menu, Nepalese or Indian.
If you can, take the time to eat in — the experience is warm, authentic, and full of heart. The whole team is incredibly friendly and clearly proud of what they’ve created — and rightly so.
We would have visited much earlier had we known it was a restaurant. There’s a band of frosted window film that makes it hard to see in or out. It wasn’t until we stopped outside one day, waiting for the rain to end, that we discovered this hidden gem.
Thank you for bringing a taste of Nepal to Napier — we’re lucky to have...
Read moreI think it would have been faster to climb Everest than to eat at this place. The waiting time to get some food was unbelievable to the point that I was gonna walk out as soon as the first plate came out.
We ordered a simple mono dish to share which was ok.
Our two mains were a goat and a chicken choila dish which was basically composed of a goat/chicken mix, salad and a cereal like rice.
The meat was extremely salty (which I should have sent back but the option was to stay hungry as it was too late in the day).
Salad was embarrassing, with literally two tiny lettuce leaves and I think 10 pieces of slaw.
Service was also a bit shameful, waiting to get plates cleared a very long time. When I complained about the wait we got a sorry and a poppadom 🤣 At least when I said the food was salty we also got a free mango kulfi, to be fair.
Didn’t deserve the...
