Friendly staff, cold beer,... that's kinda what we hope for. Team was understanding and helpful. Incredible venue location, with a long time history, including that of a dear friend Eelco. Eelco, an absolute hopsitiality legend and one person I admire greatly. His ability to make people laugh and ensure a value based and memorable time is a lesson anyone in hospitality should explore to help retain and gain more customers. Eelco, your spirit lives strong in those who remember you and care to learn about whay incredible work you achieved for hospitality for both Nelson and the wider New Zealand and abroad. Without Eelco's friendly advice, I wouldn't be where I am now. He visited Harrys Bar in the founding years and also was a regular customer and great sport when hanging our for staffies at Cafe Paris with John and Dominique. What a legend! Best of luck Hawkers Bar, keep that standard high

Excellent. Four stars just so this can be seen for those who don’t believe in five star reviews. Quite frankly speaking this place definitely deserves it. Scrumptious assortment of cocktails and fantastic desert menu. The matcha chocolate pave is to die for! A fantastical blend of multicultural fusion influenced by taiwanese, mumbai, japanese, south east asian, italian, and good old new zealand kiwi tastes. You’ll be surprised to dare to taste test the spicy sauce platter, and also pleasantly indulged in the cocktails available. The medium/small portions are enough to satisfy a hangry partner, whereas the larger portions are definitely better off shared. Excellent. Will definitely come again

Might just be me but the light was dimmed pretty low, making it slightly difficult for us to read the menu and for our kid to navigate well. Staff were very attentive, checked up on us regularly and gave us a corner table with lots of space for us - thanks for that! Food was a 4/5 for me, wasn’t the best Asian fusion and wasn’t told that the “pot stickers” were just dumplings. The chicken liver parfait was pretty good, just needed more bread. Also shared the ice berg lettuce which was good portioned, the pork belly and the fried chicken. A bit overpriced for some of the portions.

Wow what an amazing food experience for four people. This was the best food and service of the month for after spending the week travelling around eating in top restaurants in Queenstown & Wānaka this night was the very best by far. Huge thanks to everyone involved in our night. Service from staff was excellent the chefs nailed everything and I will surely be back. Favourite meals were TERIYAKI SALMON FINS, KARAAGE CHILLI SQUID, SINGAPORE SASHIMI, MALAYSIAN FRIED CHICKEN, 21 DAY AGED SIRLOIN with cloudy bay clams, MALAYSIAN FRIED CHICKEN with hot & sour sauce, Hawker vege, BRULEED MARSHMALLOW with chocolate marquise, raspberry, bitter snaps. Surprises was the Salmon fins that melt in your mouth. The crispy Squid with amazing flavours. The Sashimi had a slight spice and I could have eaten this again and again. The Sirloin was cooked perfectly but the clams added so much to the dish and I could have eaten a bowl of clams on their own. Both the CITRUS CHIFFON CAKE, caramelized apple, ginger beer sorbet and the BRULEED MARSHMALLOW ended the night perfectly. The Mocktail was made perfectly for the driver and other drinks were kept full all...

The food was quite good and most servers were lovely apart from one. He was really the only downside I understand it can be busy and that customers can be annoying. We hadn’t received any water at the start which is alright:) So I asked if said staff member wouldn’t mind bringing some over and when it was brought to the table said that ‘we can get it ourselves if staff aren’t attentive enough.’ If he had pointed us to water to start with I would have happily got it myself. We also finished everything apart from one meal (which had come out last and we were very full) but had mostly finished it. He checked us out and made a comment about it saying ‘Did you enjoy that item’ in a very snarky manner. I understand everyone has bad days but we also saw him have a bad interaction with other customers. I really try to be nice to all staff i meet as I work in the industry as well always making sure to thank them and smile. The food was good and all staff were very helpful and lovely it was just the one that tainted our experience.

I hope he either was having a bad day or learns better...
