Pay 20% more buying coffee at Pomeroy's Montgomery square versus New World!. We paid just over $27.00 for 500gms of #2 Expresso grind at the shop. New World charges around $9.00 normal price for 200gms. Pomeroys confirmed their pricing. We can buy three 200gm packs for the same price for the 500gm. We want to support local businesses but we should not be gouged for doing so. Buyer beware!

Thank for your prompt response. All coffees sell on normal price in the $9.00 range in New World, with specials down to $6.99 or similar. They would not sell their whole coffee range as a 'loss leader". Their GP's are usually about 40%+ which indicates your wholesale price to them is $4-5 dollars and your manufacturing cost lower of course. If there was a no star rating that is what I would have given you! You are a tea shop and you don't have proper tea infusers but you sell them! Instead you brew the tea for your customers - honestly how ridiculous. I would like to decide myself how weak or strong I want my tea! I made the mistake of having an afghan biscuit - it was stale, dry and old - I wonder how long that had been in the glass jar. And to top it all off, reading your reviews you think that charging men more than women is appropriate because they earn more?? Crikey, if you want to choose a great coffee from a superior range, and drink it in a cosy, friendly, almost old-world coffee shop sort of atmosphere, seek out Pomeroys tucked in the car-park corner.
