Went here a few days ago, (Staying in the region from Tasmania) Extremely disappointed. Ordered large flat white, extra hot and a cheese scone. Coffee was cold and gone before the scones arrived some 20 minutes later. Never the less was eager to see the history of the old house. The historic house was only two rooms, one of which had a display cabinet of trios. Cup, saucer and plates, plus an airer with the cafe tea towles on it drying. The other room had a dining table and chairs plus two arm chairs and a coffee table in the corner. No real displays and no information about the history of the house inside. No value for money here at all, will not be going back and would not recommend it to visitors of...
Read moreWent to the house ad it was advertised as a local historical residence with grand gardens. "Take a self guided tour experience the grandeur and scale of an early wealthy Nelsonian residence". The garden walk is basically up the drive way. There are no extensive gardens to visit. What the have is beautiful but small. The house is a venue for events and weddings only you cannot enter the main residence. You can go into the cafe room. Despite 3/4 of the tables inside and out being empty they could not accommodate me for a cup of tea and a very over priced ginger slice as I had no prior booking. This place needs to advertise correctly. If you want to visit drive by and take some photos 5 mins is...

Only 3 plates came out. I think there should have been at least 5. The set up was at the front entrance so anyone else going in had to walk around us. Then they were rushing us to leave before we had all finished our food. For the cost of $36 per person and if alcohol was wanted that was extra. I found it very very poor. Would...
