Big Mountain Burgers — Restaurant in North Island

We ordered 2 burgers and 2 fries. 3 of the items sat for 30-40 minutes and the second burger wasn't started until I went up and checked on our order, so most of the food was cold.

Burgers were a bit disappointing, over cooked to the point of being crunchy, had some really salty spots. Also didnt have the bacon I paid extra for, even after they read out that there was supposed to be bacon on it. Fries were okay despite being cold.

Might have just been an off night. One worker kept disappearing due to various ailments while the other worker said he was not a trained chef and seemed quite overwhelmed, so I can kind of understand why our experience was...

AVOID!!!! Well the food might be good..... atmosphere might be..... ordered but no cash accepted, so unable to eat here. Get real guys. You're either making too much money or you're in lala land. Anyway obviously don't need or want our business so they didn't get it. Very rude. Poor reflection on a nice small town. Took our cash elsewhere where it is accepted. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡. I came here twice on my trip to Ohakune and loved it! I tried the chicken burger with chips and beef & bacon burger - both were fab, although the chicken was particularly goooood. Super friendly and positive staff playing good tunes, the setup outside was great, watching the sunsets sipping on delicious mead. Everything went down a treat after a few days of hiking!! Will definitely recommend...
