The menu excited us. Sadly the reality bore little resemblance to the descriptions of the dishes we ordered, and those that did were mostly flawed. My entree, a special, smoked salmon croquette had no discernible salmon and was mostly potato. My companion's entree, coconut curried prawns, were fine in themselves however the accompanying spiced cauliflower was not spiced and was stone cold. My main, free range pork belly with spicy lentils was a lovely piece of pork with crisp skin as requested but again not a hint of spice in the rather cloyingly sweet lentils. My three companions ordered the duck leg and breast and here was a major problem. The breasts were tough and there were NO LEGS! When questioned, the Maitre de said that the leg meat had been incorporated into a croquette and guess what, mostly potato! there must be some strange ducks out there. Side dishes of broccoli with hollandaise had so little sauce as to be very ordinary and duck fat potatoes with romesco were not very crisp as expected and there was no sign of the sauce. Duck legs must be pricey and scarce and potatoes plentiful and cheap! Not surprisingly we didn't order desserts. Entrees were priced at $15, the mains a princely $35 and the sides $8. All in all, very poor and disappointing. We...

A Truly Phenomenal and Unparalleled experience..When we arrived we were greeted by the wait staff, this was truly a memorable moment, the young male wait staff was so inviting professional and classy when opening the doors to leading us to our table, his friendliness and amazing service was impeccable..He was truly fantastic...The drinks list is fantastic amd their 20yr port was divine...The courses are beautifully crafted...The entrees were mouthwatering, the mains were succulent and delectable and the dessert was smooth and simply out of this world..and also the sharing side of broccoli WOW just WOW..each dish was made with so much love and perfection..and the chef placed a candle on the dessert dish as it was my partners bday so that was truly special...We left this beautiful establishment full of excitement and happiness that we raved all night about the flavors and service and every experience...Truly, you MUST visit this gorgeous place..the prices however were mindblowing, for such elegance i expected the price to be more but its truly soooo affordable and low priced...Classy, Sophisticated yet homely and full of character and just pure joy...loved loved loved The Bantry we are so coming back....Our compliments to the...

See end if thus review for edits Out of 4 people dining, 2 had a bad experience. Of the 2, 1 has a dairy allergy which was specifically stated at the time of booking, and confirmed by the restaurant on arrival. Firstly, the service was exceptional. However, once meals were served the food was well below the establishments expected standard. It is totally unacceptable that a restaurant, that is aware of someone who has an allergy serves food that could have caused serious harm. Besides the cold food, overcooked food was also served. The restaurant also knew that one of the 4 was celebrating a birthday and find this extremely disappointing that his steak was overcooked twice. Personally would not recommend this restaurant, with the choice of other establishments available. We do appreciate the waiting staff tried to compensate, however, it was a totally disappointing night overall. I have now edited this review as during the night the person in out party who had allergies , had a reaction. I would defiantly not recommend this place if you have an allergy. Well great that the owner went to so much trouble to get to the bottom of this issue well done that you did this not many...

Entering the restaurant was welcome by the waitress with a warm greeting and allowed to choose where to seat which was nice. Interior that leads to the garden is nice too. Upon ordering food, I was promise there be bread serve but that never came and I had to ask for it when they serve the starter. Food was not great, the pork belly starter was warm at the top, cold at the bottom. The purée sauce that came with it was cold. The small salad below the pork belly is serve cold but maybe it’s too cold that’s why the pork belly got too cold at its bottom side? I don’t know. But not a great start by getting the basics wrong, serving warm food mostly cold. The lamb main was quite nice but I’m not sure about the peas. It’s a humble green and they are not doing any special spin on it, if so, might as well get some cool looking veg like Romanesco. Lamb was cook well. Desert was the best, I wish there was more lychee but the combo of ginger brûlée and lychee was great. There was something else on it I couldn’t quite make out but it tasted great nonetheless. Was suppose be a 3 star but I gave 4 star because it was mostly saved by the desert, alittle bit by the lamb.

This restaurant deserves a Michelin star. The food was outstanding and the staff was incredibly nice. This is one of the top three best meals I've ever had in my life. I just couldn't get enough. We started off with the coconut curried prawns and the pork belly. The skin on the pork belly was phenomenal- it was so crispy. We were expecting big prawns, but only got two small ones. Next, we had the duck leg and the snapper dish. Both were cooked well and were quite tasty. We also split the duck fat potatoes, which were cooked phenomenally well. For dessert, my partner had the ginger crème brûlée and I had the rhubarb and almond frangipane tart. Both were divine and a great finish to a really amazing meal. I finished off every piece that I was served and I still wanted more. The restaurant is set in a 1950s home which is really cool. It cost $85/per person, which is well worth it. This place is pretty epic, so make a trip here. You won't regret it!
