Taupo Thai infusion — Restaurant in Waikato

We visited the restaurant on our way from Auckland to Turangi and stopped by to parcel dinner from Taupo. We waited for over an hour for the food and wonder how and why the waiter didn't get the food out to us, as we were waiting at the table. Apparently we found the food was sitting at the counter waiting for us lol - OMG just imagine the feeling.. The waiters were not welcoming as well, she didn't understand the order even after pointing out the items on the menu.. Then came the experience with the food after reaching Turangi which was not even close to any Thai flavour..didnt expect the quality of the food to be so bad.. The restaurant is nicely setup and at a prime location. With just two people serving I think they can do a better job if only they were apologetic or even just for courtesy sake say "sorry" which could change the experience not only for us but for anyone. I feel I miss the welcoming nature that New Zealand had back...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taupo Thai and can’t say enough good things about the experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance made us feel right at home. The decor had beautiful Thai touches that set the mood perfectly.

Now, onto the food — simply outstanding! Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with authentic Thai flavors.

The service was also top-notch. Staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and quick to recommend dishes based on our tastes. They made sure we had everything we needed, and the food arrived quickly despite a bustling crowd.

Overall, Taupo Thai is a must-visit if you love Thai food. The fresh ingredients, attention to detail, and friendly service make it a wonderful dining experience. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes on their menu! Highly...

Not a nice meal really. Asked for Crispy Pork with Noodles and an egg on the top. The egg was overcooked and burnt on the edges needless to say there was no runny yolk as one would expect. The Pork wasn't crispy at all it was just overcooked and very stringy. I wanted to spit it into my napkin but we were in company so I persevered and ate what I could. I would have sent it back if we had not been with friends. The noodles came out in a separate bowl and were overcooked and in an almost solid ball. All our meals came out one at a time with quite a wait between each delivery. Keep in mind the only people in the whole place were our party of four and another couple.
