I got out of hospital last night, having been admitted due to a significant heart incident. I order a pizza from Domino's Cambridge Terrace at about 20 to midday. I was told it would be 30 minutes.
An hour later, I called back to find out what was happening. I was told the driver was a couple of minutes away. Quarter of an hour or so later, the driver calls me and tells me he's at the wrong address. I give him directions. He comes walking around the corner with the pizza. His EFTPOS machine doesn't work. He tells me to pay in cash. I told him that I don't have cash, and that had been clear on the call that I was paying by eftpos.
He then suddenly and with no indication as to why, turns and sprints off back round the corner with the pizza. I stood there bewildered for several minutes. Then he speeds past in his car and yells out the window "I'm going to get another eftpos machine", without even slowing down.
If he told me he was going to run off with the pizza, that would then be colder and mankier than usual upon its return, I would have told him to forget it, that im cancelling the order. I then called up the store to tell them to cancel the order. I told them what had happened. They said they would re make the pizza and provide the garlic bread for free, which is something at least.
I also asked for the email address that I could raise a complaint about the multiple issues that have occurred in this situation. I was told that there is no email address. I asked the person on the phone if Dominoes did not use email. He insisted that there are no email addresses in Dominoes. I queried this further and he insisted that Dominoes do not use email for anything, including internal communications within the organisation, or between branches and head office, that there is no email at all in Dominoes. I find this highly unlikely.
So then the delivery guy eventually arrives again. But…. He brings another eftpos machine that doesn’t work. He insisted it was a different machine, but I have my doubts. The saga continues for quite some time, and the fellow was less than helpful. The pizza was eventually secured.
I tried to contact Dominoes head office via their feedback form, but it has such a tiny character limit that it was not possible to detail the situation. Hopefully they will get back to me.
The stress caused by the behaviours of both the phone person and driver has left with severe pressure and pain in my chest. If it does not abate soon I will likely have to return to hospital. On top of this, losing over two hours out of my day, in which I could have been doing other things I need to be doing, is just unacceptable. They should at the very least have not charged me. It can only be hoped that the forces of random chance, or karma, or whatever relevant belief one may have, will deliver appropriate outcomes to these people.
Update: I have been dealing with their complaints portal lot for to weeks now and they are completely giving me the round around. Totally ignoring all communications now. They don't give a stuff about complaints or...
Read moreEDIT in response to the the reply from the store on this post: respectfully, I refuse to waste any more of my time dealing with you. I will not be reaching out to anyone for anything. One disappointment is more than enough. Do better.
I would give them a zero if I could. This place is managed and run by the most incompetent people on the planet. Not one of the 3 different people I interacted with had any brains, and I means that completely literally. I ordered through Doordash at 8:05 pm. I called them exactly one hour later asking where my order was. I ordered a single pepperoni pizza and wings. That's it. The lady that answered couldn't find my doordash order, and after 10 minutes of her searching in their system, she exclaims that she has been looking at the wrong thing the whole time, and she should have been looking through their Doordash orders and not through their main system. Finally she finds it, says it's on the way, and it should arrive in 20-30 minutes. I'm staying at a hotel thats a 10 minute drive from them. Literally what. I wait until 9:20 to call back again, this time its the manager that answers. He says they tried to deliver but they couldn't enter the building, and they tried calling me but my number is international. In all fairness, yes my number is from a different country, I'm on vacation. But they're delivering to a hotel. At night. There is a desk agent at the entrance. I had the hotel check their cameras and the was nothing. No one tried to deliver. I finally received my order TWO HOURS after I initially placed it. It was lukewarm at best, the wings were dried out, and my thin crust pepperoni pizza had the same texture and flavour as the cardboard box it had clearly been sitting in for going on an hour. Domino's, train your staff. Better yet, hire people that have a higher IQ,...
Read moreThis was our first visit and it was quite disorganised; some staff were clearly incompetent. Looks like they need more training and fast (and in communication as well). Firstly, there was NO chilli flake in sight on our pizza, even though we asked for it twice. Then when staff charged us, we did not get a receipt for the transaction - no big deal except for what happened later.
It was a longer wait than we're used to from Domino's elsewhere but we didn't mind. But when we were called the female staff tried to hand someone else's order to us until we pointed out the error. She finds our order, then tries to charge us again, we explain but she insists (all the while holding our pizza away from us!! so embarrassing!!), until after a discussion with her peers - we don't know what that was all about. FIRST TIME this has happened to us at any food store and it is disappointing as Domino's (albeit in the Hutt) has always been a positive experience, since day one.
Also their $5-deal is more or less dead as it is limited to just a few flavours, the rest of this stable is now upwards of $5.20. To sum: DP, Cambridge Tce, needs to pull their socks (and tights) up and upper (not dumb and dumber - leave that to the...
