Majestic Cuisine — Restaurant in North Island

The staff members had such terrible attitude. My friend and I went to the restaurant for lunch. My friend is not very familiar with chinese cuisine so she took awhile to think about what to order. The staff taking our order kept looking at her impatiently and wasn't friendly at all as he took the order. Later on we got the duck and seafood dumpling we ordered but their dumplings didn't have duck in it, neither could we taste any of it, it was just shrimp. When I called the staff and told him about it, the staff explained with such bad attitude and basically told me that they were generous about giving this much shrimp and as if I was being unreasonable for having issues with the food. I am the customer and I paid extra for the seafood and duck dumplings but I got shrimp dumplings in return which I could get at a lower price... And guess what, while one staff was explaining to me, the rest of the staff and the lady in charge (not sure if she's the boss or not but she's always there wearing those communication headsets), around 4-5 people in total, they all stood in one row in front of the counter shooting me dirty looks... I simply told the staff and ask if it might be a mistake as it is not what I ordered, such a simple matter and yet what did I get in return? The lady with the headsets stood there and didn't do anything. I was like okay fine if the one in charge didn't bother to correct her staff then there is no point in me explaining to him anymore. When the staff I was talking to got back to the rest of the staff, they started talking with one another and all gave me dirty glances every few seconds including the lady with headsets... I've never felt so disrespected in a restaurant before. Are customers not supposed to get what they ordered? And are managers/ boss / staff members not supposed to correct themselves so customers enjoy their meals? Are they not supposed to teach their staff to be polite to customers? I've worked in a restaurant for the past 2 years and have never been taught to be rude to a customer, and never will any staff or my manager simply stand there and obviously talk bad about any customers right in front of them... Such a terrible experience. Never going to this...

An Exceptional Dining Experience at Majestic Cuisine – Wellington

I had a truly memorable meal at Majestic Cuisine in Wellington. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left, everything was thoughtfully taken care of.

I was especially impressed with the prawn dumplings – thin, soft wrappers and fresh, flavorful shrimp inside. The Peking duck is also a must-try – crispy skin, tender meat, and rich seasoning. Every dish was beautifully presented, showing the chef's deep knowledge of refined Chinese cuisine.

🧑‍🍳 Service: The staff were extremely professional, friendly, and attentive. They offered helpful recommendations, kept our tea topped up, and responded quickly to every request. I felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout the meal.

This was the worst dining experience I've had in Wellington. The waitresses didn't understand our requests, the entrees were brought out at different times, my won ton soup was inedible because of how grisly the pork was, they bought out our mains about 5 minutes after they had brought out my won ton soup (which was late), the stir fry was bland and flavourless, vegetarian stir-fry which only had 3 different vegetables in it, tofu was undercooked, the steak was terrible quality and were large pieces - cutlery given was a SPOON and a fork - no knife. We hardly ate any of our meals and still paid way too much for it, despite a discount she gave after we complained. Too many silly things that totally let me down.
