I am so glad that I came here as I'm on keto and the options were so plentiful I couldn't believe it! I had the four cheese scone which I unashamedly became teary eyed over. I lovingly sliced and buttered the soft and spongy scone with some of the six butters I was given (I asked for a lot of butter and they did not disappoint!). On first mouthful I was very emotional and felt the need to stop myself from crying or it might have gotten out of hand 😅 I slowly and deliberately savoured every moist mouthful as it were something like white truffles or caviar. I was a little in disbelief that this was keto as it was just so damn good! I'm coming back tomorrow to take away an irresponsible amount of these scones as I secured the last one today. The slices were great too, very pleasant texture and taste and decent coffee to boot, though my heart lies totally and utterly with the scone.

Joined my sister & her kids for lunch at Hello Stranger. Fantastic choice for lunch. 2 kids shared a plate of loaded wedges (adult size), which they struggled to finish. 1 kid had the pancakes from the kids' menu which was supplemented with wedges from the other plate so may have needed to be bigger. Sister had chicken & waffles as she had never tried that before. Tasted great even though it was a bit sweet. My roast vegetable salad was amazing with a fantastic citrus sauce on the side. Haloumi slightly over cooked but not a big deal. All round very happy lunch!!!

Came here on a visit to Rotorua. I have a lot of allergies and this place was incredible to me - Brian the chef came and talked to me to make sure I had a safe and delicious meal, even made up an awesome dressing I could have from scratch! My food was delicious (perfectly poached eggs, maple pork belly, and salad), and my non-allergy partner had a killer meal of waffles and pork belly. Above and beyond service, if I lived here this place would have a customer for life. Thanks again Brian and staff!

We decided to visit after seeing yummy photos of the new menu. cafe floor was dirty, napkins and shredded cardboard under table legs to keep them from bouncing? ordered chicken burger and chicken salad food was served within reasonable time frame chicken salad - chicken was different temperature i.e. one piece literally burnt my tongue, the one next to it was just warm; chicken was dry, overcooked and rather tasteless, coleslaw was OK but we'll get back to it later chicken burger - bun was half dry like a hardtack; chicken was same as in salad - tasteless and overcooked. Found a hair though, deep fried. coffee was, well, coffee from a coffee machine But the main fun really started about an hour later. Both me and my partner's guts started to do weird things like get sore and produce interesting sounds with much less interesting smells. Unfortunately at that moment we were stuck in traffic on Te Ngae Rd. So when it became apparent we won't be able to make it I had to turn around through a median and run to the mall as fast as I legally could. And after 4 visits to see a "white" friend among 2 of us in the mall and another 3 at home I'm writing this review with a sore butt. My advice if you want some southern fried chicken is to go somewhere else unless of course you're currently experiencing a constipation issues.

P.S. And if you think it's an affordable place to have a bite - don't. It's actually very pricy. Almost $60 for 2 people for not very...

I was really gutted that I didn't have a great experience here as the reviews were really good. We came for brunch and I ordered the smashed avocado on keto waffles with a side of salmon and my partner ordered the fried chicken waffles. Unfortunately my smashed avo was disappointing, the avocado was brown, and not in a way which it had just been sitting out for too long but it tased off/rotten and so I had to ask for a replacement. When they returned it they had nicely re-done my eggs and replated and replaced everything which was awesome and the avocado was improved but there was still quite a lot which was brown and horrible and I had to leave to the side. The avo also had chopped red onion and tomato in it which made it more of a guacamole which also just changed the taste of the whole meal and was not quite right. The keto waffle was also a bit tasteless and underwhelming. The side of salmon was really generous though and the eggs were cooked perfectly. My partner said his chicken waffles were ok, the batter was not as crispy or flavorful as he would have liked, the dish was very sweet, but otherwise it was a really decent portion. Coffee was great though so that was a bonus, just disappointing avocado, almost feel they should take it off the menu if they don't have a good supply of avocados at this time of the year as the taste of off avocado sat badly in my...
