McDonald's Newtown — Restaurant in North Island

Pretty fast drive through wen busy and had friendly American young lady on the order pay window... They were all very safe with masks and level two protocol... Some mcdees like the Levin one is shocking bloody rude and the instore self ordering panels are not setup with the number system that your meant to type in and there is no instructions on what to do and the process just holds till u type a random number and when u ask at a counter(only wanted a coffee from the mccafe section and the girl there just mumbled something and walked away and came back and ignored me and then another girl at the counter who had mask around her chin and not wearing properly (no point in wearing one) she told me that it's not a problem and that I should just take it easy and I should have typed any number in... (no where did it say I just type any number in they seemed not to want to have the red number things on the self serve panels... All other mcdees have and use these red number things in level two for ordering. And this girl was just plain rude and the manager looking man was just as rude telling me I should have a nice day with no help at all. It's a mcdees that just seem to have bad staff culture... But this Newton one seems to be OK... Just don't go and stop at the...

We ordered one shake, one flat white, one cappuccino and one mocha. The shake was made very quickly. The CSR just came to the table and suddenly drop it and pronounced the name of shake, quickly return to the counter. No greeting, no manners to us. Then we were waiting for coffee for a while. After long time later, the barista made two mocha and one cappuccino. She came to the table and put it on the table and left. We told her that we ordered one flat white instead of 2nd mocha. She went back to the counter, was doing for her work and neglected it. Then 5 minutes later, my friend went to the counter and returned the coffee. After that she made flat white and gave us on table. The coffee was not great in taste and much strong like double shot flat white. I did not add on sugar, so she did not provide it as well. It was dine- in order but it was served my all coffees take away cup. No surviette has provided, no sorry for the mistake, no greeting. I left my coffee half way to finish. Absolutely disappointing...

The worst McDonald's on the planet! And I've been all over NZ, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Singapore and Canada. And here I thought that Taupo was bad but this one was even worse. I have some food allergies (I know I'm one of those people) but the duty manager was probably the rudest person I have ever encountered working in a customer service position. And I have never had an issue EVER at any McD prior in this regard. It left such a horrid taste in my mouth that it spoiled the flavour of the 100% nz beef patties. The way he spoke to me, with such disdain, his dismissive attitude, and his rude use of language. He wasn't even serving me but he had decided to interrupt my server just to treat me this way (poor girl was embarrassed). I would suggest perhaps a different career path (one where public interaction isn't a requisite), for you have now brought shame to the McDonald's name. Here I am McDonald's, I'm your biggest champion, but I will never step into that negative, putrid...
