Wonderful spot with great and diverse guests. Nice enough staff and good pastries and bites. Minimal setup that's cozy but gets crowded or full very easily.
Would be a 5-star if it weren't for the lack of consistency. Coffee is hit and miss. It seems to depend on the barista's mood as to whether they'll actually clean the filter basket before grinding off a new shot into it. Shot time varies wildly too, but they get served anyway.
A real shame since they've got the equipment to make every shot perfect. (La Marzocco PB, a Mythos 1 and a commercial digital Portalfilter scale)
Not exactly a barista's delight, but it's the best in Newtown despite it. It's people's coffee, coffee for the people. And that,...

They charge $0.20 for takeaway cups, but bring your own cups and avoid paying those extra. They also serve toasties with homemade almond butter or Tumeric butter and also had special spread which I think was some spread made of pinto beans. On the cabinet they offer pastries (unless they’re all sold out), cookies, slices and other sweets. Oh and they also had chocolate from Wellington Chocolate Factory. Certified organic coffee beans available as well. Overall very good cafe outside...
Read moreThey revamped their cheese and pickle toasty from excellent to out-of-this-world excellent. It has multiple layers of cheese (Swiss, I think?), tangy mustard, and juicy pickles, all wrapped up in soft bread which toastes up to a melt-in-your-mouth experience, which has many times proved to be the single element between myself and true satisfaction. The staff are a delight to chat to and they keep a lively atmosphere where all ages are welcome. If that wasn't enough, it catches the afternoon sun and has a variety of seating options for groups, couples, or individuals with a good book. Don't sleep on this place, It's...
