My experience of this place started out fine, I was going to go to the pub quiz evening and turned up early, bought a pint and sat down. I was then told by my wife and our friend that while they were waiting to be seated with me, the manager had come over and snatched the menus out of their hands and rudely told them “it’s level 2” with no prior warning or discussion. We then left after paying for what I had drunk and left along with an apologetic look from the lady behind the counter. That would have been the end of it, but after they both wrote reviews of their experience he proceeded to bombard my friend with comments on her review for hours into the night. This may be great under the right circumstances, but this general experience and pettiness has made me feel the need to make sure he knows that this unnecessary behaviour is not acceptable. It's difficult to put any effort into writing a review when it's because of bad service so I'll focus on the facts.
Arrive at 8.10 pm, wait, get seated with menus infront of us, "I'll be back in 5 minutes". It's not until 8.40pm after some muted attempts (we're not here to stress out servers) that one of us at the table makes eye contact with the right person and the original server is sent over to take our orders.
We leave at 9.30pm because only one item had arrived, this is because we were at the bottom of the final dinner rush queue due to the earlier mistake. No efforts taken to improve this situation.
Also, not impressed with the way I saw the chef prepare the food item we did receive, nobody wants to see someone doing a lean past a server with your food directly in their hands like they've just caught the winning home-run.
TL;DR doesn't matter how good your product is, people will always remember...

I was looking forward to coming here and supporting local business after such a difficult time for the hospitality sector. Me and my partner were ignored for 25 minutes as servers walked by and stared. We were eventually given menus and our order was taken in a timely manner. We waited about an hour for food as people that had walked in after us had been served and fed before us. The food was subpar and looked like it had sat under a heat lamp for awhile. I watched a member of the kitchen staff walk into the bathroom with an apron on and come out drying his hands with the apron. I was looking forward to returning for a gig maybe but now I’m not to sure.
