Baobab Café — Restaurant in Wellington

Was only there once, but it definitely left a great impression! The food tasted amazing from the first bite to the last. The menu variety was vast and the customer service was friendly and professional!

I believe the Menu has a lot of different varieties of food and preferences like vegan etc. and just like any good Café in Newtown, the coffee is amazing.

They also have seating outside which was really relaxing.

War nur einmal dort, aber es hat definitiv einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen! Das Essen schmeckte von der ersten bis zur letzten Gabel fantastisch. Die Speisekarte war umfangreich, und der Kundenservice war freundlich und professionell!

Ich glaube, dass die Speisekarte viele verschiedene Optionen für unterschiedliche Vorlieben, einschließlich veganer Gerichte, bietet. Und wie in jedem guten Café in Newtown ist der Kaffee einfach fantastisch.

This cafe is situated in a great location in Newtown! The service was pretty good too. The variety was unlimited, however, I happened to unfortunately uncover a horrible menu item. I decided to have the soup of the day, a pumpkin and sweet potato. I thought this sounded great, with a crusty bread roll to accompany it. Turns out I was totally wrong. This 'meal' was a watery, green juice, with an overcooked piece of bread next to it. The soup must have been 95% water, 4% spinach and other greens, leaving 1% sweet potato and pumpkin. I could hardly taste any flavour, as the dish was full of too much boiling water. The burnt bread roll wasn't great either, but certainly the highlight of this catastrophic, disastrous experiment gone wrong. I would not recommend coming here, as it is definitely not good...

In Newtowns cosmopolitan centre is Baobab a rustic cafe offering hearty food with quality ingredients. On entering it is dimly lit with local artwork adorning the walls for sale.Outside is an area to eat and relax however it needs attention with weeds growing higher than the flora. There are murals painted on the walls outside which bring in colour to the very rustic alfresco dining area. There is a menu and also a selection of cabinet food at reasonable prices. Their homemade kombucha has hints of mint and is refreshing. I recommend the empanada which is packed with tasty lamb and served with side salad.
