I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Sweets & Snacks,This cozy and welcoming restaurant offers an authentic taste of India that is hard to find elsewhere in the city.
The masala dosa was a standout dish. The dosa was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, filled with a flavorful potato masala that had just the right amount of spice. It was served with a delicious coconut chutney and sambar, which complemented the dosa beautifully.
Another highlight was the bhel puri. This popular street food snack was a delightful mix of puffed rice, sev, and fresh vegetables, all tossed in a tangy tamarind sauce. The flavors were vibrant and refreshing, making it a perfect appetizer or light meal.
The restaurant’s ambiance is simple yet charming, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions.
Overall, Indian Sweets & Snacks is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine in Wellington. I highly recommend trying the masala dosa and bhel puri – you won’t be...
Read moreI was disappointed with my recent experience, unable to award a zero-star rating. The only increase was in the price, the service is appalling. During my visit a few weeks ago, I ordered a samosa and kachori, but the staff insisted on reusing my old plate, requiring me to request a fresh one. Additionally, food is not served at the table, despite high prices.(They ask you to come to the counter to pick up the food when ready) The quality of food was average, and sweets were not fresh. I do not recommend this establishment, as there are better alternatives. The father-son duo very rude. Will Never come back here again. Sadly for the Indian community in Newtown do not have a option. This was the worst...
Read moreI have visited this place quite a few times. I really used to enjoy their chaat. The last time I visited, I noted that the owner was serving food to foreigners on table but calling us to the cabinet to pick our food. I thought it could be because the store is busy and ignored it.
I went there again after a couple of days and noticed the same behaviour. So I asked the owner why the difference in service. He got really angry and said some tables are closer so her serves them on the table. But they have always called people to the counter to pick their food. This is completely false as I have been to this restaurant several times and always got served on my table. Very sad to see the discrimination in...
