McDonald's Upper Hutt — Restaurant in North Island

Me and my husband visit here the other night we thought we would eat in for a change instead of always going through the drive thru WHAT A MISTAKE !!!!!!! WE WILL NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN DINE IN HERE !!!!!!!! . We got in side an there were people all standing around the counter sort of an people sitting down looking like they were waiting for there fish & Chip's. So we were standing behind a lady not knowing if she was waiting in line or had been served she indicated that she had been served an for us to go to the counter so we went to the counter only to be told that she was doing a refund at that moment which was fine didn't mind waiting at all as they looked so run off there feet so we are waiting for the girl to come back an serve us after she had finished doing the refund we stood at the counter waiting for 10+ minutes watching the girl run around filling order's an not bothering about us at all. While we are waiting at the counter there is two other girl's calling out orders like in a fish & chip shop an people are going up an getting there order's I'm standing there feeling so stupid as not one of the three girls has bothered to come an serve us an this is after 10+ minutes SO DISGUSTING AND DISAPPOINTING NEVER NEVER EVER WILL WE GO BACK HERE THIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD MCDONALD'S A SAME TO SEE IT FALL SO FAR. OH AN BY THE WAY YOUR SELF SERVICE MACHINE IS NO GOOD LEAVES YOUR COUNTER UNATTENDED FOR THOSE CUSTOMERS THAT DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY ON THERE CARD'S LIKE ME AN MY HUSBAND WE ONLY HAD CASH AT THE TIME I THINK THIS IS A VERY DUMB IDEA UNLESS YOUR STAFF CAN DEAL WITH THE SELF SERVICE ORDERS AN ALSO SERVICE THE COUNTER GET RID OF THE SELF SERVICE MACHINES NOT HAPPY AT...

Upper Hutt drive thru not even deserving of the one star but only option available to provide a review. Ordered food and person at the window said to park up in the second bay. I advised that my car won’t fit and will block the cars behind and asked to park in the car park however no car park available so no choice but to wait at the window. Few seconds later can hear big guy in grey shirt say they don’t want to park up??!! Anyways a minute later 1st bay eventually became available and I said will move my car and wait there not realising it was going to take almost 20mins for my small order and all 12 other cars behind me receive their orders and leave!!! From this I knew it was intentional and stormed in asking what the hold up was! No apologies or proper excuse just still cooking my one burger!!! Word of advice to the girl working at the drive thru window and the two gents wearing the grey shirts (one supposedly the manager) working between 5:30pm to 6:00pm on 11/05/22, either get some training to learn all about customer service or leave Maccas you obviously are not equipped for the role! Usually you get what you pay for at McDonald’s (slightly overpriced, tasty fast food) but this is now the third time now that the team here has missed giving us something we ordered for takeaway.

I do a quick bag check but sometimes it’s hard to spot items. Yes I’ll start pulling everything out of the bag now (good for me). McDonald’s, if only there was a way for your staff to tick off the order items against the receipt before they hand over the order, or some other simple standard of practice procedure that could easy be followed by the thousands of people working for a multinational food chain, or maybe that slows down the your speed and efficiency and would mean no longer categorising your store as “fast food”. Any who knows I don’t work here but just I’ll advisedly spend my money here.

I know what your thinking, I should stop coming here. But you know life gets hard and the occasional purchase here for the convenience factor is everything.
