based on positive google reviews I got a cab here from the airport. Arriving just after they opened I figured the filter coffee would be fresh. It was warm and had a recycled taste. If the filter had been running the aroma would have been in the room. The local supermarket has ready ground coffee way better; this was a really poor catering blend. The cup and saucer showed signs of dishwasher residue. My omelette was OK; loaded with ham cheese and tomato. It came with fried bread toast. Greasy spoon plate and cutlery. I asked for a barista coffee which was made with the same tired ready ground and definitely low temperature water. If you charge for top grade you should deliver top grade. Wellington has some great coffee supply houses. More crockery with tide marks. Coffee had a chicory edge. This place could be a 5 star cafe with some attention to detail, the dishwasher, the coffee brand, the temperature of the espresso machine. My chicory theory later confirmed by my kidneys.
