(Warning: unimpressed Jafa's review below). Ok, lesson learned once again: don't trust ratings of regional Asian restaurants as most come from kiwi locals who are seemingly more than happy to be ripped off and possibly can't tell what an authentic Thai cuisine should look like. I guess folks here have smaller mortgages so being taken for a ride is not a biggie. Green curry watery and mostly filled with veggies (big cold chunks, let uncle Roger see I dare you, $27.90), tiny portions of rice, beef salad ok but not really authentic ($25.9), plus cold salad leaves on top. But hey, if you want more rice it's just $4.50! Nice ambience though. PS: For all you locals, give any Auckland Thai restaurant a go, far better flavour, bigger portion and price wise you'll break even with the fuel to travel there and back.

I really wanted to prove a bad review wrong but I have to say that R. Ouhel's review was a fair assessment. I'm sure others may really enjoy this style of Thai, but the flavor profiles were really atypical. I ordered the sizzling beef - based on a positive review and was disappointed. It was very sweet and tasted like ketchup. Another at the table ordered the tom yum soup - which had a unique type of seasoning (Thai ginger?). Again, I'm sure others enjoy this take on Thai (this restaurant was very busy!) but I rate based on my tastes. We did enjoy the prawn spring rolls and chicken satay. These were very good. The satay is lightly fried, which was an interesting and pleasant take on the dish. The tamarind sauce was also good. The staff was friendly and kind but very focused on take out orders.

From the outside, this place might not look like it’ll be the best thai you could try (located a bit off the main street right, looking like it might be a part of the next-door motel). But I assure you that this was some of the best thai food I have ever had (including when I visited Thailand)! They had all of the classic dishes with amazing, innovative options. Like traditional massaman curry but with pumpkin added. And pad thai with satay sauce. They have a whole vegetarian page at the back of the menu, but they also mention that almost any dish can be made vegetarian/vegan upon request. The vegetarian/vegan option includes cashews (at least for the curry), which we were so happy about! Seriously a must-try if you want amazing thai food!!!

Decent environment but the food was not anything near AUTHENTIC and also very EXPENSIVE. We came here when we visited cambride. The dishes we ordered was the Satay chicken, Chicken wings, prawn spring rolls, Tom yum(main size), Beef Salad, Taramind duck, Pad Thai and the Hor Mok Talay.

The satay chicken was very dissapointing as it is one of my favourite dishes it was way too sweet and the penuts where very hard and were a bit hard to bite. The chicken wings were over cooked and were dry but the prawn spring rolls were the better one out of our 3 entrees. After our entrees, came the mains; Tom Yum prawn was also very sweet and thick which made it taste unpleasent. The Beef salad was decent but was missing a little bit of citris taste. The Taramind duck was again sweet but it was a lot better than some of our other mains. The Hor Mok Talay was very weird it was served in a ball of tin foil so we had to open it our selves which was very hard as it was on a hot dish and the food inside was very hot the fish inside crumbled up and was very hard to pick up and also the vegtables inside were overcooked and basically became mush. The Pad thai was definently the best dish out of our dinner but it had way to many penuts and also it had alot of whole penuts. also rice protions were tiny. and getting extra rice was around $4. Overall it was a very mid experiance but the waiters were nice and made us feel welcomed but the food was dissapointing and could have been...
