Went there tonight to pick up an order and and a young man waiting for his order was not wearing a mask. A number of patrons questioned why he was not wearing one and he was asked to leave. Did leave but came back in. Owner was asked why he was not questioned why he was not wearing one before being served and her response to this was the young girl of 13 did know what she was supposed to do this. Owner was then asked why she was serving if she did not know the rules. Owner then said if she was serving would have not served the customer. Totally unacceptable response when Omicron is getting rampant in NZ. Should not have young staff being responsible for asking the question. Owner then went on to say how she always monitors mask wearing to protect the Whitianga community. That to me is a total lie. Read moreAfter reading positive feedback for this place. We stopped by to check out this place on Wednesday 16/04 with my kids before heading back to Auckland. I must say its the best fish and chips ever. Even better we were served with a smile. The fish was fresh and cooked just right. Good portion size for $7.00. Nicole (I think she's the owner) she greeted us with warmth, very friendly, good vibe and very welcoming. She also recommended what to get as we were undecisive with our individual orders. My teenage daughter ordered a cheeseburger and chips and she went on about how tasty the burger was and chips was done perfectly. Great service 👏 will definitely return to visit Whitianga. Must recommend this place, affordable takeouts for all and, plenty room inside to sit down and eat. Thank you Nicole for your...

We had an amazing experience here. From the moment we walked in, Nicole greeted us with a warm smile and a cheerful attitude, making us feel right at home. The service was not only friendly but also refreshingly honest – she guided us on what to order based on the freshest catch of the day and even advised us on what to avoid.
The food was absolutely delicious. Some of the best fish and chips we’ve ever had - so good we went back for another order right after finishing the first. The seafood was incredibly fresh, cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes were generous. Even the ice cream was huge!
To top it all off, the prices were great, offering excellent value for such high-quality food. If you're in Whitianga, Snapper Jacks is...
