I’ve owned a cafe, and certainly been to many, but the food here is outstanding!!! Better than most by far! Gorgeous presentation in the cabinet and generous portions (to a fault!), share the scones, light as a feather, huge, delicious, ask for extra butter).

No drama to organise a table of 13 and accommodated the haphazard ordering without blinking an eye. Standouts were Leek and Chicken pie(next level stuff, we actually came on recommendation of this pie from the day prior), seafood chowder is a winner with gorgeous texture and seasoning, plus ultra buttery toast. Offered more toast without asking……… of course, it was a knockout! Coffee is expertly made Allpress and the mushrooms all got a special mention from the table., yum!

I just love this cafe come luxury gift store! Friendly and familiar service right on the main streeet. We all unanimously gave it a 10/10 and set us on our way home in great spirits. Nice work Bev and all the staff. The young school student boy was a trooper delivering everything, wish more young people had this approach...

We stopped by Fig for a light bite and coffee and left with more than we expected—not just in flavor but in service. The brioches were perfectly golden and soft, with just the right balance of sweetness and butteriness. The coffee was smooth, rich, and clearly crafted with care. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly, which made the experience all the more enjoyable.

What truly stood out, however, was how the team handled an unexpected situation. After finishing our meal, we accidentally left behind our child’s retainers, tucked away in a folded napkin. We only realized the mistake about half an hour later. Despite the busy pre-Christmas lunchtime rush, the staff had found the napkin, noticed what was inside, and set it aside for safekeeping. When we returned, they handed it back to us without hesitation or fuss, showing thoughtfulness and attention that went above and beyond.

Fig impressed us not only with its food and coffee but also with its outstanding service. It’s rare to find a place that takes such care in every detail, and for that,...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Fig Cafe in Whitianga, and I must say, it was a standout experience. ordered a mocha and a capucchino and was blown away by the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate in both. The cafe also offered organic peanut butter and mixed nuts butter for sale, which I couldn't resist. The interior of the cafe was also breathtaking. It had a vintage style display that gave it a very cozy feel and made me feel like I was stepping back in time. Overall, The Fig Cafe in Whitianga is a must-visit for anyone in the area. Delicious drinks, friendly staff, and a charming atmosphere make it the perfect spot for anyone looking to kick back, relax, and enjoy a nice coffee with some...

Really disappointing. It was busy when we arrived which made us think it would be good but on ordering was told it would be a 1hr wait for the eggs Benedict I wanted. I was offered the one vegetarian option from the cabinet instead and felt pushed into selecting it. None of the cabinet food was priced so I was shocked when our two cabinet food items and two drinks came to $43.50. My soy iced mocha was so full of large pieces of ice and I realised after paying that it cost $8.50, when a regular soy mocha is only $6.50. My vegetable frittata came out with some parts warm and some parts still cold. The busyness of the cafe died down within 10mins, as shown in the photo, so I have no idea why cooked food would’ve taken 1hr.

You walk in it smells DIVINE...the cabinet food is just gorgeous and tastes as amazing as it looks...the establishment is super immaculate, the artwork is beautiful, products to buy - jam, sauces OMG delicious, coffee is fantastic and the food is PHENOMENAL the quality and quantity is perfect...I came to Whitianga for a holiday and 3 days in was unimpressed with the breakfast meals I was having until I stumbled across my now favorite Cafe and eatery The French Fig....PLEASE visit this place and try the Macadamia Brioche Muffin OH MY soft delicious and exactly how it should be and taste...I will always come here now...Thanks French Fig ❤️

My wife ordered the creamy mushrooms, I had the eggs benedict with bacon. The potato rosti and bacon were delicious. The eggs were hard (no runny yolk). The hollandaise was nice and tangy. I also had a coconut milk latte, which was refreshing to see and was also delicious. The thing that let down the experience (apart from the hard eggs) was the general feeling of not being welcome in the establishment. Maybe the lady working front of house (I presume the owner) was having a bad day.
