The Coffee Gallery Matamata — Restaurant in North Island

8/10 I wasn't expecting much from this one-of-many cafe's in Matamata nz but I have to say I was pleasantly suprised. Lovely decor, pleasant customer service and good brew. The coffee itself was prepared in a timely manner which made me think someone went and tampered the milk wrong to hurry an order through but again I was wrong. The cup itself I would give an 8/10 on its own. No music but thats not a mark down and on a side note their cups are fantastic. It's a silly thing I know but they're a cool design that are textured for grip so you're sure not to drop it and great for insulating the brew. I wish more cafe's put this much care into their prep. Price-wise they're standard with the usual selection of café culinary favorites. As I passed through Matamata the one thing I noticed is just how many cafe's are crammed into this small town which makes choosing one a risk because you know there'll be plenty that are horrid but I guess it's my lucky day. While visiting Matamata recently to visit The Shire, my son and I stayed right across the street from this wonderful cafe. We were up early-ish to head toward Mount Ngauruhoe to hike the Tongariro Crossing and needed a great breakfast; so glad we took a chance on The Coffee Gallery. We both had the pancakes and a pair of long blacks. While we waited we got to listen to the conversations as the town’s regulars came in for their regulars. A happy morning. We had brunch here today for the first time and we are so impressed! The atmosphere is perfect and the service and people are so friendly and caring. The food feels and taste homemade but in the best way! It was really good and the coffee was also good. They also have a kids table with toys which our toddler loved! We ordered a fluffy for her and the fluffy was perfect. It came with a chocolate fish and marshmallows and we asked for that to be given to us hidden in a tissue so she wouldnt just eat them and they definitely delivered! Thank you so much, we'll...
