The Corner Kitchen NZ - Whakatane — Restaurant in North Island

When I travel, I always make a plan to stop in at The Corner Kitchen. Have had several of their pies and sweet treats and am always delighted.

Steak and Cheese pie is delicious with its crust pastry. I love how the steak is slow cooked and tender. Also the lamb and kumara pies. I believe they deserve their award.

I’ve also tried their vegetarian options - Cauliflower, Broccoli and Cheese pies. Yum. And their ratatouille pies are flavoursome.

Can’t find better milk tart but my fav is their Bischoff caramel tarts. Plus the coffee is freshly brewed.

Tried the Pies – Mixed Feelings

Went the other day after hearing good things about their pies. I was especially keen to try them out — unfortunately, the mince pie was quite disappointing. The filling lacked flavour and felt a bit bland and underwhelming.

On the bright side, the lamb and kumara pie was a different story — really tasty, with a nice balance of flavours and a hearty, satisfying filling. Definitely worth trying if you're visiting.

Friendly staff here. Decent range of food, the basic cheeseburger is cheap and yum. Sandwiches are average, they have pasta dishes and the hot chips are always yum and they have a selection of like 5 different free sauces to smother them witj! Nice :) unfortunately I don't stop here very often because there is nothing healthy available, but that's not a concern for most people frequenting here.
