The Lucky Dhaba — Restaurant in North Island

Lucky dhaba has quickly become our new favourite Indian restaurant in Lower Hutt. I don't usually write reviews, but I thought I should make an exception for this restaurant. It is an unassuming , small, no-frills kind of establishment with good honest Indian food that tastes amazing. This restaurant is one among a very rare breed of restaurants in Wellington that captures the authentic Dhaba taste ! Staff are friendly & polite, great location and above all, wonderful authentic north Indian (Dhaba style) food. It is not a fancy establishment.However, if you are looking for good north Indian food in Wellington, this is definitely worth many visits ! We have visited it thrice by now, and ordered different dishes every time, and have been impressed each time. Kudos...

Dined in here last night. Ordered onion bhaji which was pretty good and the paneer pakora which was average, no spinach leaves like menu said and was served with tomato sauce which was super weird. I had the methi matter Malai or something which was average, really sweet and just tasted like a korma. Kids had the mango chicken which they liked, but was way too sweet also. Was really looking forward to ordering the Chole bhature but they said they don't do it at night. Probably won't be back but glad...

On entrance seemed pretty basic, I tried a few starters fish bites and tandoori chicken the starters came out a few minutes after ordering and they tasted amazing and were even better with the dips. I ordered a Kema Nann and mild butter chicken my companion ordered a hot lamb sag. OMG was the sag hot I could smell the Chilli in it.
