Easily the best burgers in Wellington. 200gm patty, done med-rare (or all the way if you like), or a juicy chicken breast fried to perfection. Their buns are always perfect, don't go soggy, and are also delicious. The dirty sauce? It's better than BM sauce. Heaps better. The Dirty Burger is the perfect burger. No fuss. No BS. It's just exactly what needs to be on a burger, and everything on it is perfect. 100% my last meal. I am a regular because their burgers are just so damned good. Really wish they'd bring the Biscoff burger back. I think that was a WOAP thing, but it was rad. But If I'm feeling like something other than the perfect OG, I usually go for the PB Bacon burger. It's a lot, but a lot of goodness. I love PB on a burger, even so far as a PB Jam burger (no, they don't do those here). But the PB Bacon burger is freekin good if you've got the munchies for one reason or another. My one gripe is they've exponentially expanded the menu to include smash patties and a million other things, which is probably good for most people, but I am totally dedicated to the 200gm patties (trust me, it is sensational) or the chicken burger if it's a chicken burger sorta day. Oh, the shakes are thick AF. That's not hyperbole. You have to let those suckers melt for a while unless you have the suction of a black hole. And there's usually a pretty amazing choice of bespoke donuts too, unless you're too late. Which I almost always seem to be. But the donuts are awesome. Of course the sides are great, cos these guys aren't messing around are they. Want to upgrade your fried to gravy fries for $1? Well, you're going to get a massive tub of crinkle cut gravy fries with at minimum, a whole lotta gravy on them. You can take it to a whole bunch of next levels with bacon and chicken all mac n' cheese... heaps of stuff. But the gravy fries are a solid choice unless you're like, really really hungry. Or sharing, but I prefer not to. lol. Everything this place does is awesome, and even though there's a few burger places around, I just keep coming back to DB's because...
Read moreMy wife and I love burger fuel but it just isn't as good as Fergburger in queenstown. So we thought we give this a try. I had a royale with cheese and she had a dirty burger. As we entered the room we noticed that the floor was very slippery and told it to the staff who couldn't care less. My wife saw them making the burgers without using gloves and told them that she was concerned. The guy again couldn't care less and stated that it was not necessary as he washes his hands frequently. Later we saw him wearing gloves. Then came the food in a big brown bag. We both could only eat half of it and even this was too much. This was the first burger I didn't want to finish. My wife's face got red and I felt quite sick. The taste was bland, the brioche terrible (I never liked brioche on a burger, but this was very soft and thin). The cheese fries were okay but tasted like usual takeaway fries with generic sauce but at least edible. Honestly, even bk or maca is better. Terrible staff and worse food. When is Fergburger finally coming to...
Read moreI don’t like giving a business a bad review, but have to say we were really disappointed with these burgers. First time visiting this place. Purchased OG double smash burger (I somehow ended up with 2 of these), a kids smash burger, popcorn chicken and lime shake to go. Ordered via their app. Total cost was $58.50. The kids burger was drowning in ketchup and once I managed to scrape most of it away, the burger itself was not good. My partner said the double smash burger was ok, but he also admitted he was so hungry that he was happy to just have something to eat. The popcorn chicken had a strange aftertaste and seemed a little “off”. Staff seem lovely and were busy dealing with delivery service orders, but that doesn’t make up for a poor food experience. Hopefully it was just...
