The ambiance and interior design of the restaurant are excellent, and I genuinely appreciate the effort put into creating a welcoming atmosphere. I’ve also made a conscious effort to give Tiger a fair chance by returning with friends on multiple occasions, as we enjoy the food. However, I’ve consistently encountered disappointing service experiences. On our most recent visit, one of the male staff members used offensive language while we were selecting our food, and became visibly upset when we politely asked for a refill. Additionally, the woman at the front counter responded with a noticeably unpleasant attitude when we inquired—respectfully—about having a table cleaned, as there were no available seats at the time. As someone who understands the challenges of working in customer service, I approach these situations with patience and empathy. However, professionalism and respectful communication should remain a standard in any customer-facing role. Unfortunately, the behavior we experienced felt not only unprofessional but at times discriminatory, which made us uncomfortable. We genuinely try to enjoy the food and want to continue supporting the restaurant, but we hope that management can address these concerns so all customers feel welcomed and respected during their visit. At the end, we decided not to go back there ever again.

Great place to go during winter season! You choose what you want to put on your pot; varieties of veggies, seafood, meats, and noodles. Weigh your pot in the counter (your paying for the weight), choose spicy & numbness level. Get your peanut sauce (mix little bit of black vinegar, salt, pepper, chili sauce). While waiting for your bowl (10mins average, can be longer if busy time) order milk tea. Your order will come in a big bowl with their signature broth (Malatang). Mix your peanut sauce into the broth to make it richer & creamy. Notes/tips for you: * 7pm-8pm is busy/peak time. You won’t be able to get a table even if you call for reservation; so come in before or after peak period * be mindful on what you put on your pot, as you pay what is weighed on the counter. * spicy/numb level: take medium spicy-medium numbness (this is average); or very spicy-medium numbness (for a real spice 🔥) * servers seems to have attitude as per other reviews, but i think it’s because of language barrier (and this is not a fine dining restaurant, so better put your expectations down) * if you think you ordered too much and can’t finish your meal, you can ask for takeaway container (50 cents); don’t bring your bowl to them as you will transfer it on your own.

Good Northern Chinese cuisine, generous use of chilli oil and dried chillies. Service was friendly enough and sufficiently efficient, bearing in mind this restaurant isn't 5-star (and doesn't charge like one). Decor is basic. I found that it was surprisingly easy to have a conversation despite the number of people there. We enjoyed the busy atmosphere while there around 7pm on a Saturday. Not having been to Northern China, I can't be certain about the authenticity of the flavours but the restaurant was full and >95% of their customers were Chinese who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their food, which is usually a very good sign. Personally, I thought the food was delicious and portions were generous, though distinctly spicy. You can always ask for less chilli, if you're not a hot chilly fan. Budget around $25 per person excluding alcohol and you should walk out happy and stomach satiated. If you need to go looking for this restaurant at night, it's down a dark lane that looks after-hours industrial, till you're almost at the entrance, so don't let the external surroundings put you off.
