Worlds End — Restaurant in North Island

My son has recommended this place a couple of times and I thought it was just for the beer battered fries. I take it back and realize that my boy has excellent taste.

We went in just before lunch and were able to take advantage of the brunch menu. All three meals we ordered were visually appealing and oh, so delicious. The staff was fantastic and it was some nice atmosphere as well.

Although this was my first visit (won't be my last) I would assume the place gets really busy when any notable sports whyevent is on TV. Especially with ample screens to watch any event. Just something to maybe plan for. 😉

Update: 11.09.24 Still fantastic. The food was great and one if us got a smaller burger as he thought their signature burger was going to be too much. The staff were excellent, as usual. The only think I didn't like was the little ipads for ordering. It's likely because I'm old and just prefer the traditional menu/order idea but if it works for them, then great! 😁👍

Used to come to this place all the time with my mates to watch the ufc, the staff all knew us and were very friendly. Even with our beautiful dog, would bring him water and cuddles. Food is AMAZING, even just basic chips and drinks are so nice, but there burgers are perfect.

Until recently, not sure if he’s the manager or just an uptight worker. But James is quite an ass, all the other staff are friendly as can be. But we arrived the other day to watch the ufc with our mates like normal, and he lets us know we have to leave unless we order food (we were waiting for our friends to show up before we ordered anything) got pretty much forced into buying a beer while we were waiting just so we can stay and got asked for id 3 times, not to mention the other extra 2 times when our friends arrived. He was not friendly in the slightest and was just making us feel unwelcome even after we ordered food?? Everyone else was very sweet though and even pet our dog...

I have found a particular member of this staff to be unfriendly. She never has greeted me when I've been there. I think she is a senior staff member also. When I asked her if I was allowed children to eat with me at the table she asked me if they were my own children. That question was not a ridiculous one but it was the way she asked the question that felt wrong. It was as though she was talking to me like in an acusational and disrespectful or insensitive way of speaking. I have felt this from this member of staff now and again about 3 times. She's cold and extremely unwelcoming. I like to attend this bar because it's close to where I live and it has my favorite beer on tap. Not many bars have the 🍻 beer I like on tap but World's End Fraser cove does.
