Subway — Restaurant in Otago

Was here on Monday 2nd December with my wife , daughter, granddaughter and another. Behind the counter was ?Asian middle aged fellow and ? Asian middle aged women. The premises appear generally clean and well kept. The abruptness and mannerism from him was bad. She was pleasant but as for him - if we didn't have hungry kids I'd have walked out on that alone. Particularly to the kids - the sharp "what do you want", was nothing short of arrogant. Both myself and my wife ordered the foot long steak melts. On both of these he 'threw' the meat into the centre leaving a couple of inches at each end with nothing, he could have run it along a bit spreading it the length of the sub. The fillings were scarce and thin. I specifically also asked for plenty of red onion and it was feeble how much he put on. In this day when we are paying more for food than ever and getting considerably less the least they could do is show a bit of decorum in the preparation. I don't often lowball any service or establishment but we certainly left there wishin we had not gone at all and wasted our money. I'd never go back and I'd advise others not go go also. STOP ALREADY WITH THE DAY OLD BREAD !!!

JUST DO FRESH BREAD DAILY.

I’m sick of the fresh bread smell but when you order you get the deflated bread from yesterday.

If they did this again I will stop going completely to this subway and I go often.

I can get a fresh FRESH bread sandwich close by at many places and will no longer pay $15 to $20 to be given day old bread as it’s suits subway to sell this, it’s not fresh subway like you claim stuff is.

It’s easy to tell yesterday’s deflated bread and you always see the fresh stuff behind but heaven knows who gets it as I always get the old stuff and I’m sick of it.

Also they are getting so cheap with a tip box (pay your staff better, this is NOT America and this is fast food it does not need a tip, don’t ask !!)

Also laminated cards saying how many pieces of veges you get, so so so cheap.

I went to the subway at around 3pm, and an incredible team welcomed me like I'd never been welcomed before in my life! it was warm with a big smile, the handsome young man with the blue eyes was beautiful in his outfit but also the lady of Philippine origin called cha, she is special ! rarely have I known someone so kind to others to prepare a sandwich that was, my god, it was incredible, I had butterflies in my stomach because I enjoyed it so much! It's obvious that the restaurant is well looked after! I highly recommend this place if you want to have a good time! thank you to all the team, Rommel, cha and alex!
