BurgerFuel Dunedin North — Restaurant in South Island

Honestly not a great experience. The service was friendly, however they left our burger out on the counter for so long that they were literally cold by the time we got them. The meat was cold, the egg was cold - it was all cold. Then they went to give it to us as have here, even though we had ordered it for takeaways and when we asked if it was still warm (because it had been sitting there for about 10 mins) the lady responded that it was. It was not. Usually I would leave it at that and not leave a review, but for two $17 burgers, I would expect better quality, better service and the food to at least be warm still. For the amount of time it was left sitting there, they really should have checked and remade it. I work in hospitality, I know how it is and I know what is required. This was not the bare minimum for the amount paid for, and while I acknowledge these are people working there, I'm also acknowledging that I was a paying customer and hope to receive what I paid for. The portion for the kumara chips was also quite small. Flavours were yummy and it was a perfectly acceptable experience, but not worth $41 and I won't be...

The staff and owner work hard to ensure the service and atmosphere here is always welcoming and offers consistently great service. The food is prepared to a high standard and is definitely right up there as one of the best Burgerfuels I've eaten at across NZ. It's a great addition to the Dunedin burger scene and the location with parking makes it easy to dine in or pick up. I've always been a Burgerfuel fan but having one here in Dunedin has meant being able reconnect with the great offerings. Like everything prices are up there for some of the offerings but consistency makes it well worth it in my mind and they have fries and sides that are absolutely worth it unlike a number of other places that can leave you disappointed. Recently the new app has greatly improved ordering and there have been some great promotions and deals too so hoping that all continues. Really disappointed in the service. Went in to get a thickshake, yes, easy enough? Waited 20 minutes to even be served...a girl was busy stacking the drinks fridge. At this point, I may add the store was not that busy,; 3 groups seated at tables A man from the group cooking came out and asked her to serve us. After a further 5 minutes, she went to the register, looked at us and said.....well, what are you after? My first answer would have been 'some manners', but thinking better of it I placed the order for 2 thickshakes All I got after that was a grunt. A further 15 minutes later, our shakes were literally slammed on the counter and she turned her back on us. I asked a pleasant chap serving another customer what her name was, and he replied 'Jess'.
