I've lived in Dunedin for 3 and half years, this is the most disappointing cafe experience I've ever had. I'm talking about the service. I arrived at 8:45 am, ordered just a small cheese roll for my son, and I waited by the counter. There were only 7 customers in the cafe, all finished their dish. I stood by the counter, watching 3 kitchen staff laughing and talking to each other. 10 minutes past, all 3 kitchen staff noticed me watching them. Nobody, including the waitress, bothered to check with my order. I went back to my car to comfort my son and back again, it was 8:57. The waitress saw me, went in the kitchen and pointed to sth. apparently where the orders are, one staff just started to take out a box full of cheese roll. I asked the waitress how far the cheese roll is, she just lied to my face saying that there are only 2 orders before mine. for 12 mins I was the only customer at the counter and nobody else came in. I told her I was in a hurry so don’t bother. She was like ‘oh, okay’, didn’t even apologise when I walked out of the door. Guess she must thought I was a tourist.
