Little India Dunedin — Restaurant in South Island

Table of 20 squished together with no room to move, forgot one starter and didn't bring it out until 1 hour later and then cold. Table not prepared, no glasses, cutlery or serviettes for half the people. Male toilet filthy with no hand towels, not replenished when told of problem just given serviettes to dry hands. When complained given 10% discount and late platter free. But on paying was overcharged and tried to charge for platter which manager said was removed from bill A waitress was seen being yelled at it the kitchen. Took over 2 hours from booking time to get food, with many other orders going out as takeaways which obviously have priority. Small portions with more sauce than meat. The manager is a slippery fish...

We were told by the waiter that they dont use the ‘sweet’ sauce in their dishes so EVEN medium-hot was quite ‘spice’. It was JUST hot, there was LITERALLY NO FLAVOUR. On top of that, JUST one of the staff was friendly, the so called ‘main’ waiter was Extremely RUDE. I understand that the restaurant closes at 10 but we were almost finished with the meal, this guy comes to the table and STARTS TO PICK ALL THE PLATES WHILE WE WERE EATING. We were 6 people, we all ordered different dishes. JUST one of the dishes was worth eating, rest were better off as trash. Bad food, worse service. First time big booking of 40 people and will be last too. Didn't get everything on fixed price what we were promised. Most of our guest left without starters n dessert. There was not one staff who took care of our group. My hubby had to run and keep asking for everything. Poor service. Lastly we were over charged. After contacting the owner he was so rude and didn'twant to listen. Anyway money was secondry but being host our guests left empty stomach. Our own cake was more of our dessert. This can keep going on and on. My husband and other his friends are from hospitality industry but this was our worst experience as per them.
