Des Restaurant in Auckland is truly a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic and flavorful Pakistani cuisine. My family and I recently dined there, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming ambiance that immediately set the tone for an incredible dining experience.

We started with the mix platter, which was a perfect choice to get a taste of everything. The platter featured a variety of succulent kebabs, tikkas, and flavorful starters, each prepared with precision and authenticity. The spices were well-balanced, and every bite was a treat to the taste buds.

Next, we indulged in the chicken karahi, which was hands down one of the best we’ve ever had. The karahi was rich, aromatic, and packed with traditional flavors that transported us straight to the streets of Pakistan. The tender chicken, paired with perfectly spiced gravy, was an absolute delight.

The chapli kebab was another standout dish. Cooked to perfection, the kebabs were juicy, flavorful, and had just the right amount of spices. It was evident that a lot of care and expertise went into preparing these traditional delicacies.

Beyond the exceptional food, the service was outstanding. The staff at Des Restaurant went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. Best Middle Cuisine restaurant and great food! Lamb kabsah, chicken kabsah, baba ghanoush,humus, platters for the bigger groups and halal of course. Price is decent and affordable I would say. I am a regular here when it was located at the back but haven't been back for a few years until recent. Too be honest, the customer service and vibe of the place is not the same like it was 3 years ago and I am quite disappointed I'm afraid. I recommended this restaurant to friends for dinner and was a bit embarrassed that the experience we all felt that evening was nothing like I had experienced the last time. The staff are not very warm or welcoming. The young gentleman's customer service was very average that took our order, barely smiled or said anything. The lady who was assisting the tables we felt was quite rude. I don't know if it wasn't intentional however when it comes to service, what else shall we think? She never smiled at all and never even said hello or barely anything when approaching our table. She seemed busy but it seemed to me that customers is a not a priority and seemed like doesn't enjoy her job. Coming from extensive customer service background myself, the service needs improvement for sure. TERRIBLE. Have had to change my 5 star review to a 1 star AS I couldn't give zero stars. So disappointed! Ordered and paid online, got confirmation email, jumped in my car to go pick it up then checked my phone when I got there (I don't check my phone while driving!) and had a txt and email saying my order had been rejected by the restaurant. Went in to see what the story was, as the money had already gone out of my account, and got told they were too busy and I couldn't get my money back there and then. No help to sort it and no reasonable explanation for why I wasn't getting the food I had already paid for. Will not order from or come to this place again.

Have had food from here both dining in at the restaurant and pick up/take away and the food is fantastic everytime.
