Read more. (01/2018) War Memorial Park is more of a fitness circuit as advertised at the entrance than just a park. It includes multiple walkways including a fitness trail, a dedicated running track, Lovelock track, softball field, multiple playgrounds, skate park and community hall with small sections for exercise at regular distances along the trail. There are beautiful structures and sculptures at different places in this park. Information about them is provided on the boards accompanying them. My favourite is the one around Okley creek. Well maintained and regularly looked after. Filled with beautiful views around the trail. Seating and benches are provided at regular distances for taking rest and enjoying the views. A good place to do a get-together or organise a picnic on a sunny day. Can get busier in evenings otherwise a quiet and peaceful place. Good for kids, families, groups, meditation and quick visits. Easily approachable from different roads and conveniently accessible. Spacious multiple parking areas and entrances at regular distances from different direction and roads. Great location for activities, events , Fair, etc. Great for kids the play ground, skating area as well. Not bad layout, needs an uplift in the community centre it's location is accessible from Sandringham, Mt albert, Dominion road, Stoddart road through the walkways it provide. Tuesday and Fri if you want to walk the track you end up on the other side to enjoy the markets.
