Sadly I came way feeling very let down by the entire experience of dining at Luna. The one positive that I can say is that the cocktail I ordered was lovely, and my husband enjoyed his cocktail too. It was downhill from there, though.
Our group was given the ‘set menu’ option. The starter was bread and dips, but as it was shared amongst so many people I only got one, very small, slice of bread. I didn’t think much of this because I was looking forward to my main. Unfortunately the waitress didn’t note down my main order (or the order of another diner in our group) correctly, so we were both left waiting for our food while everyone around us ate. The kitchen did try to expedite the meal, but when it arrived my risotto was very disappointing. It is always a let down when you go to a restaurant and think “I could make this better at home”! I considered sending it back, but by this point everyone else in my group was over halfway through their meals so I chose to eat as much as I could. Incredibly, we were charged $58 per head for this… something I still can’t wrap my head around, because the value just wasn’t there.
The service was also a disappointment. Aside from the order mix up with my main, there was not a standard of service that I would expect from a restaurant. For example, upon discovering that the restroom had no toilet paper left, I went to let a waitress know about the problem only to be snapped at with “We’re incredibly busy right now, I’ll get to it when I can” said with a very irritated tone. Honestly, that’s a terrible response from someone in the service industry, especially in a restaurant. Staff members seemed to be trying their best, but there wasn’t the warmth and quality of service that you can find in other restaurants. We won’t be...

From start to finish, our evening at Luna Bar was incredible. To begin, we ordered the cheesy garlic bread—which was perfectly crisp, gooey, and full of flavour. For the main, I had the steak, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had—tender, cooked to perfection, and full of rich, savoury flavour.
The real standout, though, was dessert: the coffee and Kahlua crème brûlée. I have never had anything better. It was the perfect balance of sweet, creamy, and a little kick from the Kahlua—absolutely divine.
The service was just as impressive as the food. Our waitress, Eva, was lovely and attentive, making us feel so welcome. We were also looked after by another waiter who I believe was the owner—he was so friendly and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell this place is run with care and heart.
Highly recommend The Luna Bar for anyone looking for amazing food and even better hospitality. We’ll...
Read moreReally disappointed with our visit. A woman just pushed in and took a window dining table, that was reserved for someone else - and then had friends join her, without much pushback from the staff (seriously understaffed) they were loud and boorish did not order dinner, crowding the space and making the evening way less enjoyable for the other diners. This annoyed me because we had travelled a long way to enjoy our booking and could not see the view from our middle table. If that table was an option of first in first served, why was it not offered to us? Upstairs was booked for a private function so no chance to see that either. Considering the slow service and this awful breach in hospitality I think 3 stars for the good food is generous. I left with no intention of...
