RE Burger Rolleston — Restaurant in South Island

I tried RE burger for the first time three weeks ago and gave it two stars as it was basically inedible meat. I was contacted by them and they politely explained the supply issues they had and asked if I could give them another shot. Admirable response to an unfavourable review, and as I said in my previous review, I'm a big fan of supporting local business. I returned to try it once more having been told the issues had been resolved.

I had the Great King and tried a few bites of the Regent Red. To say the difference was night and day would be an understatement! Went from throwing half a burger in the bin, which I had never done before, to being gutted it finished. Great flavours with quality fillings, the beef was well done which is how mince should be given it's composition, and of far superior quality to my first try, and the chicken was tender - perfectly cooked.

We would have never gone back there again had they not reached out, and we will definitely be returning in the future. There's a lesson in here about customer service in the service industry... Thank you, RE Burger team, look forward to...

Placed order online. Went in to pick it up and while waiting I noticed an employee handing food with his bare hands and fingers. Absolutely disgusting. I told him that I wanted a refund and that I would be making a complaint. The employee tried to tell me some story about the Selwyn Council not wanting them to wear gloves. What a load of rubbish. The employee needs to read the regulations about food handling. Use tongs when you can't wear gloves or if it is not safe to wear gloves. Ended up going to Hells Pizza next door where all staff handling food were...

We ordered burgers. As we waited for the burgers to be made, I was appaulled at the lack of hygeine. Reburger staff...all but one wore gloves when handling food! I watched them wipe their clothes and touch their hats while handling food etc. Why no gloves or utensils used for touching food? I definately would not suggest going back to Reburger. The young staff looked very hardworking and kept up to the demands of food orders but what about handling food...to be safe for themselves and others. Reburger owner and management need to be held...
