Scott Brewing Co did not disappoint, an absolute Gem!

My wife and I arrived late into Oamaru hungry and tired after a long drive. We tried a few places but they were all either shut or not serving food as per time advertised online. Scott Brewing to the rescue!

They were open until 11pm. We went in with low expectations as it was a last resort and the only place open however we were thoroughly surprised to find the hidden gem of Oamaru! It's a genuine brewery with the big brewing tanks on show at the back with a fantastic beer garden outside with plenty of space. Inside it was lovely and warm and the super lovely staff were very welcoming. The atmosphere was buzzing and we felt very comfortable here. They have a great selection of beers for those beer enthusiasts like myself.

Again we didn't expect much from the food as its a brewery and to be fair its not the most varied menu, basically bar snacks and pizzas. However the pizza's are bloody brilliant. So tasty, fantastic toppings and bloody great. They did lose my order in the system however when I asked they were so lovely and apologetic and insisted on bringing me a fresh pizza pronto and to refund my money. I tried to refuse the refund however they were very insistent so I obviously caved quite quickly.

I never leave reviews, but this place really deserved one for its great staff, hospitality and quality....

This place has great food with a good range of their home brew beers and cider. There was a great vibe here with a crowd of all ages and the service was good. Once more there is seating arrangements inside and outside (great for those lazy summer days when you just want to soak up the sun and the view of the ocean and the docks) and bookings and reservations are possible as there was a table reserved for 7pm on my last visit there. My personal favorite is the fully loaded pulled pork fries with delicious jalapeños however the pizzas 🍕 are really good with thin crusts. I'm sure their pizzas 🍕 are what brings everyone coming back for more. The brewery is exceptionally organized and clean and the pale ale was really good. I'm looking forward to another visit so I can try the other beers and ciders. The ablotions were clean and modern and if memory serves were unisex. The staff were young and friendly and our pizza was there within minutes. Our drinks came just as quick as our orders were placed moment from being seated. They did require payment up front or a bank card should you choose to run a tab but all in all was a really good experience and is one of the few reasons that bring me to Oamaru for...

I was driving through Omaru on a quiet, cold Monday afternoon by myself and was at loss to find somewhere where I could get a good vegan feed. I found Scott's Brewing Co. through the HappyCow Vegan app and was not disappointed. The space is large and buzzy, and even though it was a quiet Monday, I can imagine the place full of people. The seating is literally in the brewery so it is loud! But this just adds to the atmosphere. On a warm day I would love to sit out in the beer garden to soak up some rays. I treated myself to a cheeky half of "Lemonale" and a vegan pizza that the friendly bartender helped me choose! So tasty! Definitely not on the cheap side but so worth it!
