TASTE CAFE — Restaurant in South Island

The coffee was ok, but I was expecting it to be the best coffee on the planet, but it certainly only average! As for a double shot it was going to be seven bucks, so I said to the lady it was the dearest in the country for an Americano, so she gave me a discount so in the end $6 was the price. The cake I bought was the going price and it was yummy. But I will never return there. My Jed coffee bags are as good almost. We had lunch at Taste I ordered a gluten free toasted sandwich with cheese, onion and pineapple. It came made with three slices of gf bread. Plenty of tasty filling. A small side of Piccalilli. It was delicious. My partner order a cheese, ham and pineapple toasted sandwich. It looked amazing. Plenty of filling a small side of piccalilli. Local Oamaruvian here but shamefully I had never been to Taste before today. Had the French toast with bacon and it was cooked to absolute perfection. It was a very reasonable price and presentation was on point.

A relaxed ambient atmosphere that is inviting and the staff are wonderful. Efficient service with great conversation. This place is my new go to. Definitely very highly...
